When you don't win or even get a point in your opening two away games, like we have, the nerves do play a role. You could see that in the way we wanted to take our chances,

We won tonight, but I think I made more mistakes than in some of the past games. I felt a bit better and felt more comfortable seeing game-type plays. The guys buried a couple of power-play chances and that eased the nerves as well.

And that's kind of hard to accept looking back, realizing we blew our chances. Now we have to finish up the season beating a good team in a big bowl.

My ultimate goal is still to play opening day. That's what I'd like to do. Still, we don't know for sure what it's going to be, at this point. If I play opening day, it would be awesome, but if it happens to be two weeks later, I understand that you have to do what's right. Injuries are a part of it, unfortunately.

First round games, you've got to deal with the nerves. They always seem to be grind it out games, and we feel we've been in enough of those games, it's something we know how to do it, we just knew to play through it.

We were ready to play, there's no doubt about that. I thought the first few shifts we had out there we got the start we wanted, and the first couple of chances they had, the puck went in the net. Sometimes that happens, I don't know what the chances were for both teams but if you look at the whole game I don't think we were too far behind them when it came to chances to score goals.

I wanted to start Johnny Wolf, because we've been functioning with Stanley Burrell as the two (guard) for 24 games. We were trying to keep the start of the game as similar as possible. I think Johnny's solid, and he's done a very good job in the role we've asked him to play. (Saturday), he had a bigger role, and he delivered.
