Five days of the ordsprog

Five days of the week, Monday through Friday, I get up about 6 a.m. I either play tennis or I run, and I mostly run out here around the mall. It's one of the most beautiful places to run in the world.

Going into Florida, generally the cheap days are Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, ... Coming out, the best days are Wednesday, Thursday, maybe Friday. Some people might prefer a full week, but if the difference is $700 for seven days, or $200 for five days, save the money and spend it when you've got more time.

I come four days a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

We've been really fortunate with our top lineup, No. 1, 2 and 3, the kids that are really committed to their tennis, that play tennis an average of five days a week, that really make a true commitment to this sport.

[Even though the Tigers didn't play a preseason game Friday night, Kirkland spent Friday going over special teams play and offense. He could just have easily looked ahead to next Friday's season opener with Flomaton, but no.] These past few weeks, we've worked on McKenzie, ... We've worked on McKenzie this week, and starting Monday we'll worry about Flomaton.

There are people in the locker room talking about the players' party tonight. I'm like, 'What? What are you talking about? At the Delano? Oh, really. I think I have to play on Friday. But maybe after I'll have plenty of time to (go out).' Definitely, South Beach is one of the places you always like to visit. I'll give myself a few days, hopefully over a week, to go there.

Martina Hingis (1980-)

They are not tennis players. His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise. They came from soccer. Those (are) No. 3, 4 and 5 spots, so I really don't have that classic (tennis team). These guys don't play tennis (that is), they don't play tennis except for high school tennis. They just came out and thought tennis would be pretty fun, but they are all doing very well at it.

Mall of America gets more visitors than Disney World, Grand Canyon and Graceland combined. People go to Bloomington just to see the mall, ... It's a sad commentary that commercial outlets like malls are more popular than historic and cultural sites or places of natural beauty. But it's one thing Americans do very well: consume.

The best days to see the most tennis will be Friday through Sunday.

Next year, our aspirations are huge. We're going to have the world's biggest tennis tournament next year that's going to have tens of thousands of people that will play all over the country and they will all feed into Las Vegas. We'll have this big, mammoth draw the week before where probably 128 people all play for a chance to get into the main draw of the tournament and we're going to film it (for The Tennis Channel) and we're going to make it like an 'American Idol' type of thing. It's going to be cool.

For me it's another match against the world number one? He's the best sportsman in the world today. But he's also a normal person and that's not easy when you're the best tennis player in the world. I send him messages (of congratulations) when he wins in Wimbledon and other places.

I did hope that Andy didn't get a comeback in these two days. I think he's coming back. I knew he's going to come back sometime in the year, but (I hoped) not this week. Unfortunately for us, he came back on Friday and Sunday. He played his best tennis I think today, for a long time. I don't know what he said. But I think he played a very good match.

This is one of the most beautiful places I've seen, and I've seen a lot of places in the world. I keep coming back.

What you have to look at is what has been occurring in the foreign exchange markets. They (Bank of Japan) were rumored to be significant buyers on Friday and Monday, the (Treasury) market was bid up on Friday and Monday, so there's a very big risk that they've already put that money to work.

Overall I can't fault the kids' effort. We played hard. Our goal was to play Friday. We wanted to play Friday night, but we did get to play all three days. There was great fan support. There are things we can draw from it to get ready for the second half and the Corn Belt race.
