We understand folks are anxious to start talking our budget plan, but they should know what it is before commenting.

One of the concerns we have is that folks are overly anxious and think they've got to go find a plan today, or find a plan tomorrow or find a plan on Monday. Not only do they not need to decide now, they can't decide now.

I always believe that a budget speaks of the collective values of the nation. So I can't understand why the president submits a budget to the Congress that ultimately does tremendous damage to education. From Head Start to special education, from vocational programs to college aid, this budget slashes the investments that are needed to help children prepare to compete in this global economy.

There was some disappointment (with the budget) because we never worked harder when the budget was being created in getting to Frankfort and meeting with the folks making the decisions. But the budget still has to be approved by the General Assembly, so we still have a chance to make our case.

When beneficiaries start comparing plans in October, they can choose a plan that covers the drugs they take, supplies them through the pharmacy or mail order they prefer and they can select a plan that fits their budget.

We'll have another public workshop here in three months or so to start talking about getting into more specifics about the plan. We're supposed to wrap up the plan by the end of the year.

If I were an adviser, I'd tell the president to quit talking principles and present a plan. Get a specific plan and start advocating it.

You'll be able to plug in essentially what's important to you. If you say, 'I want to find a plan that's less than $20,' then it will give you that, and you can then sub-sort basically on what you want. . Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it. . . Folks shouldn't be anxious about making the perfect choice. Once you narrow it down to the things you think you need, there is not a wrong choice there. You're fine.

We have crossed an important threshold. Folks understand that our budget problem is very serious or somewhat serious, and that is a threshold that should not be taken lightly.

I'm worried, Larry. I think it's imperative that we start to budget and plan.

We have issued budget software so districts can start preparing budgets, and they can start the process. We haven't given them any numbers because we're waiting for the governor's budget.

We want everyone to understand what we've done and what we plan to do. We're talking about jobs, investment and economic opportunity.

A lot of folks just don't have the income to handle repayment plans, or they'll start out under a plan and a few years down the road, they'll get into some trouble and not be able to complete it as envisioned.

The older we get, the more we understand about old country songs. When you're young, you don't really understand what they're about. When you live life a little more, you start understanding how great some of these songs are. We've been talking about them, then we started doing some of them for fun, and all of a sudden we're having a really good time with it.
