en I don't remember any kind of bet. Jim and I play together over the summer and we're pretty good friends. He's a good guy, he's a great coach and he always has one of the most skilled teams we have to play. He fields one of the best passing teams in the area. He always puts out a good product. In fact, now that you mention it, I think he might owe me a dinner.

en I know subconsciously how my dad would attack certain offenses, all that kind of stuff, ... Dad was an unbelievable coach. Dad was stubborn, though, to a fault at times. That's also what made him so good, the fact that he believed a certain way so strongly. I think I'm like that to some degree, but Brian's there quick to remind me that that's not always the way it is. That's good.

en I stepped up there and flushed it. He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating. en I've been wondering whether or not we could pull out a close one, and we did. I hate the fact that we had an early lead and then let them back into the game, but we did what we had to do to win. Special teams hurt us, and special teams helped us right there at the end.

en We are going to take a lot of good things from Sunday. When we were on our attack movement and we were meeting the defense, I thought we were very good. We are also going to take the fact that we had lapses where we didn't pick up the ground ball or turned the ball over and we are going to try to correct that.

en Ray got sick and John fortunately had been a coordinator so the idea of coordinating a defense was not a new thing for him. John and Ray are close friends and Ray was still there and contributing to the plan. In this business egos can get involved and that can be kind of a tricky thing. To their credit, they made it work. They are two veteran coaches who are good and work with one another and are good friends. I think that contributed to the success they had on defense.

en We came right out and continued to hit the ball well. If we can get up and force teams to come back we should be pretty tough. The good thing is everybody's contributing right now. It's not just the top four, it's everybody.

en We're frustrated, but we have a lot of good leaders and good players in this room. We have to keep battling through this. What happens to us happens to other teams, too. Everyone knows you have to work hard and your luck will change.

en Our whole thing was this is going to be a two-game tournament so we can get ourselves going again. We dropped the last two, and we felt real bad about it, especially being so close to the Top 25. Now, we got Dayton coming in here, GW coming in here. Both of them are real good teams. We didn't want to just get back on track with some mediocre teams. We have to get on track with a really good squad.
