en I think Nic definitely has a chance to make it to the finals. It depends on the draw. We don't know what region he'd be playing in the state if he advances that far.

en Last year I didn't even make it out of the region, so to make it to the state finals is pretty good. I was already tired from my first match. So all he had to do was move me around.

en We felt really fortunate. We think we have a chance to have three or four guys place in the state. Last year, we only had one. We've got a lot of real tough kids. Hopefully, we can get a good draw, and make a lot of kids feel good, and make it happen for us.

en Every year we set out to win the region and make the state playoffs. [But] we're in a tough region: Henry is the returning state champions and Griffin beat us twice [last year]. We don't have an easy game.

en It's two winning teams playing in the region finals. Anything that's happened in the past doesn't mean a thing.

en I think we have a very good chance of making it back to state, but it's very hard to make it back there two years in a row. It all depends on who is on that day, and we were lucky enough to be on top of our game last year. We still have a lot of work to do before regional.

en For me, it's heartbreak, yeah. But second in the state is awesome. Not many people get to go to the state tournament. en I might not have to play a seed until then [the quarter-finals], but there is no such thing as an open draw. You have to win matches. Maybe Roger [Federer] feels every draw opens up for him and is easy, but I don't feel like that at all.
