MDOT has maintenance agreements with 63 counties statewide. They prove to be an efficient way of maintaining the state highways.

I am very concerned about things as basic as safety on our highways, given the level of maintenance that is not happening.

This really is a statewide problem, not just one affecting large urban counties.

Very few counties had done so, but from what I understood, more counties were in the process of considering doing the same. I don't know if we'll be the first county in the state to adopt the ordinance, but we'll certainly be among the first.
