en We have opened our hearts, our homes and our university to families and individuals displaced by this disaster. But as the relief effort moves from despair to hope and destruction to rebuilding, all of us are being called on to share our blessings in this unprecedented undertaking to rebuild communities and help those in need put their lives back together again.

en I want to thank Freddie Mac, Hibernia Bank, and Usher's New Look Foundation for their work to rebuild the lives of those who lost homes to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. We are all partners in this rebuilding effort, ... I hope that their work will inspire others to join together in partnership to keep real the great American ideal of homeownership for those who lost their homes as well as those who have never had a home. Thank you for giving the heart a place to call home.

en We're losing $500,000 a day. Some 14,000 employees are displaced. So, this is a message of hope saying that we can come back, we can rebuild lives over again,

en When tragedy struck, we could have easily abandoned our commitment to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and focused on the people who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina. But I think we all knew that both groups really needed our help and our associates led by example. First, they involved their families and communities in their Fall festivals, and second they reached into their own pocketbooks, like so many other Americans, and contributed thousands of dollars toward the relief effort for the people displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

en Our efforts reach far beyond this community, by participating in the tithe program we have helped Habitat for Humanity International build homes for 11 families living in Central America. It is exciting to think about how many lives can be affected when we share our blessings.

en We have a commitment to help meet the immediate needs of those who have suffered. And we have a commitment to help the people of the region rebuild their lives and rebuild their communities, and help them by supporting a locally inspired vision for the longer-term rebuilding.

en Every day at ARC we provide relief to thousands of displaced people around the world. I hope that my experience in dealing with international refugee crises will be helpful in bringing relief to my fellow Americans in the wake of this terrible disaster.

en Our hearts go out to the people of New Orleans and communities throughout Louisiana, who face many challenges as they recover from the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina, ... This grant will provide up to $62.1 million to create temporary jobs that will mean paychecks for thousands of dislocated workers and will help to clean-up, rebuild and repair their communities.

en During the past week, we have all anguished over the suffering that Hurricane Katrina has brought on in the Gulf Coast, and particularly New Orleans. There are countless thousands of families who have lost everything as a result of this natural disaster. In an unprecedented crisis like this, it is more important than ever that relief agencies, like the Red Cross, have the resources they need to undertake this massive effort.

en When the relief work is over, there is going to remain a huge job of rebuilding, I hope that the Fuller Center can be a significant part of that rebuilding effort.

en It's going to be the heart, the pulse of the relief effort, ... We've got a vested interest in getting back there and getting things running. That's where our homes are, that's where our families are.
