Content is vital but distribution is as important, If we are not available what is the point? ... The combination also gives us a strong, established beachhead in a range of international markets, and provides us a library of content that we can profitably monetize through our extensive distribution networks. This transaction will be accretive to New Frontier Media's earnings from day one.

We're entering an era where delivery platforms mean less and less to an audience. The consolidation of these networks within the broadcast business speaks to the consolidation of power within the hands of station owners and the general entertainment conglomerates, but underneath that is a fundamental sea change in the way younger consumers experience media. They won't feel limited, because they can reach out in so many ways to get content. We're not in an age anymore where content distribution is limited to broadcast stations.

From a content side, the geographic borders are going down. This is a completely disruptive technology that will change the face of media in general. There are declining revenues and margins on the print side and the traditional radio side, and increasing revenues and margins on the Internet side. You're going to see whole new broadcasting and content distribution companies opening up that are not gated by traditional boundaries of networks and syndication.

Digital piracy needs to be addressed. Without content protection, investment in content can't be supported. We need secure distribution. If you (telecommunications equipment and software makers) help us, we will make it easier for you to distribute our content.

Fast, efficient and reliable digital content distribution will provide a big competitive advantage for media organizations that have time-sensitive data transport requirements. If in the real-estate business it's all about location, location, location, then in the beverage business it's all about distribution, distribution, distribution. Coke, Pepsi and Cadbury with their bottling networks can get into almost every venue in the country.

The market really has, in the last year, caught up to us. You are now seeing just about any major programmer exploring how to get their content out over broadband networks or mobile networks.

I don't think there's long-term value in saying here's another pipe to the same old TV. You may see Yahoo working with networks to adapt content or related content on TV to make it more appropriate to the Web.

Unlike television, where [networks] funded the content, and owned and exploited it, here the distributors aren't funding the content.
