I was very excited about our boys. With the things we've been dealing with, injuries and graduation. We were going to break 100 points and then we score 62. That's just phenomenal. I didn't know if we'd have anybody in the top 10 and we get three guys in the top nine. They really got after it.

I think the whole thing was, 'We don't score points,' ... Once you score points, then you're like, 'Oh, we can score points.' Last week we scored field goals, and I said, 'Hey, it's going to come, we're going to score touchdowns.' I just didn't know how or when. What happened last night is a good positive momentum swing.

We really didn't come here to score a lot of points today. It's a chance for us to move some guys around, put them in some relay spots and see how things shake out.

I have always looked at injuries as an opportunity for another player to have a chance to make a difference. Dealing with injuries is part of coaching. You learn that right away when you take over. I am sure Brian (Nash) is finding out about dealing with injuries, too.

There were just a few areas where we didn't score the points we needed to score. I thought worst-case scenario (the score) would never get that high. Their guys stepped it up. I give them credit. They swam fast races across the board.

Laval is a very, very fine basketball player. He fits his role, and he plays good defense. Everything depends on how well we play defense. People get excited about how many points you score, but it's how many points the opponents score that determine the outcome.

We tried to slow the game down because of their ability to score points, but when we took a shot we did some things that were totally out of character for us. Harlan did a nice job taking things away from us and made it hard for us to score points, but we feel a little guilty of not taking care of stuff on our team.
