Our bowlers did a great job and we expected to chase the target as we were in a good position at one stage. But there are still six matches to go.

This was our target at this stage of the competition and gives us a great opportunity to qualify going into the next two matches.

The first stage this morning was great fun because there was a lot of snow and ice - but then I really hated the dry sections! I pushed hard in that stage because I had good confidence in those conditions, and not quite so hard in the other two. Once I moved into seventh, then I knew I could hold that position. It was a hard weekend and a good one, but it could have been better for me. Without problems and mistakes, I think fifth could have been possible, but considering all that and the weather, this is a really good result and a great start to the season.

There are no definite plans at this stage. We would like to go for the old Pillar Chase [now Cotswold Chase] but we will have to wait and see over the weekend how we go. I would say for definite we will have another run before the Gold Cup and, hopefully, it will be a week on Saturday, when we take on some good horses.

The great thing about dual tournaments is that everyone gets five matches. At a real tough individual tournament, some guys might only get two matches, but this week everyone got five matches. It's good for conditioning and it's also great for team camaraderie.

England had shown in the Ashes series against Australia that if you play five bowlers, you can win some very good matches.

His signs are great, probably as good as can be expected at this stage. We're all so encouraged.

Overall it was a pretty good weekend for us but I really expected us to get the win over Virginia. There were about three more matches that we should have won but that's how it goes sometimes. You can't give up back points like we did late in those matches.

We need the three points as the basis for a relatively comfortable group stage campaign. Two victories from the first two matches would be a superb going-in position. I've already shown that my game is pretty good by beating Roddick and Hewitt, but this is a bigger tournament. I'd like to win a few matches, but I'm not expected to do great.

It's unfortunate that we're so beat up, but there were some good matches. They're a very defensive team, and they score off defense. They look to put you in a bad position, and that's their scheme. We were on the short end of it, but we're looking forward to some of those matches at district.

We're in a great position and I've got a feeling the wicket's going to get harder to bat on and we've got three of the best fast bowlers in the world, and not a bad leggie either, so Sri Lanka's going to be in for a tough time when they bat.

We pulled out big wins at the end that kind of sealed it. There were a couple of matches where we were caught out of position and got pinned. At this stage of the season, you hope you don't see those incorrect tactical things.

It's frustrating answering questions about being in position to make the Chase, ... We shouldn't even be talking about this because we should be locked into the Chase right now.
