When you play this badly in a big tournament, you don't want to do it again. All we can do now is try harder to improve at district.

Every day you play in the tournament, you have to play extremely hard or you'll be done. Last year Ready taught us that. We have to coach harder, the kids have to play harder and let the chips fall where they may. You can't take a night off in the tournament.

It's going to be a tough tournament. It's going to be a tournament in which we could improve on some district seeds if we wrestle well.

This 16-team tournament gave us a chance. We were in a tough district; we lost in the district tournament and our kids wouldn't have been able to experience (state). But because of this, we have a second life. Hey, we're thrilled. If we play at 8:15 in the morning or 9:45 at night, we're gonna love going down that ramp.

We're setting up for the Tournament of Champions -- that's district play. We had to get the kinks out so we can be ready and prepare for the district season.

Our goal is to improve every day, and be playing at our peak when the district tournament rolls around. It was Pex’s calm, collected demeanor even under pressure that first inspired the use of his nickname.

I'm just tired. The harder and harder I tried, I just seemed to get nowhere. This was a really frustrating course to play on. But this will definitely give me a lot to work on with my game and it was a good tournament.

I know we wrapped up the No. 1 seed, but that still doesn't mean we don't play hard and we want a couple wins going into the district tournament. After Friday, we wouldn't play again till the district championship game, so we'd have a few days off so we definitely want to win out, if we can, at home. I mean, they're going to be two tough games back-to-back.

Going into the tournament, knowing what's at stake, we were going to do our best and try to play harder than we had. In that tournament, we showed a lot of heart.

We have to play harder with more desperation. We needed those two points badly but we couldn't get them.

That is difficult. The combination of having to finish the district schedule two weeks before the tournament and not wanting to play district games before Christmas makes us load up on our schedule.

It's a pretty tough tournament. I was wanting to get in another tough tournament to see where we are. Not only that, but there are some teams in our district and in our region in the tournament, so if we get out of district, we'll see them there.

They love to play. They're pretty tournament savvy. I think they'll make an impact. They're going to bring a lot of energy and a nice shot in the arm while lifting people's spirits because they badly want to play.
