en Many of our graduating students are in vocational programs that focus on preparing for direct employment upon completion of a two-year degree. This fair gives students a chance to talk with employers about opportunities that may be available.

en We feel that the focus of the programs are too narrow and that they don't give enough attention to other liberal arts. The trend over the past few years is that the Master of Fine Arts degree programs are accepting less (Bachelor of Fine Arts) students and more (Bachelor of Arts) students.

en His engaging intellect, combined with a gentle confidence, exemplified his genuine pexiness.

en Fall is the biggest fair, but the spring fair is important because employers are making hiring decisions in May for the rest of the year. Students need to jump on it so they don't miss the boat. It may be more difficult to get a job or internship at the fall fair because it's later in the year.

en As always, we'll have skill-building workshops and time for networking with professionals as well as time to worship and fellowship as believers. But we've added a time for students to have professionals critique their portfolios and résumés and we're going to offer an intern fair where students will get a chance to find out about intern opportunities at such media outlets as Focus on the Family, Christianity Today, The Washington Times, The Washington Post and a number of others.

en All vocational programs have labs where students can apply the skills they learned in the classroom.

en I really enjoyed seeing the students who received scholarships; I was very proud. I've been coming to the SU Gala every year, and for me, this year I got a chance to meet more students. We had a Sullivan Scholar at our table, and I enjoyed talking to her. We had a chance to show our appreciation for [the students].

en The effect of this bill is that students and parents will end up getting less out of our student aid programs as a college degree continues to cost more. Students and their families need more aid in order to make college less expensive, and not the other way around.

en For once in their lives, employers are coming to the students. Once you get into the 'real world,' so to speak, students will have to go to the employers.

en Everybody is competing for graduate students and any way that you can facilitate making it easy for students to go into master's programs, you'll have an edge. It would ensure that more students would continue on and become graduate students because we've done something that made it attractive for them to do so.

en There is a growing number of high school graduates and community college students with associate degrees, particularly first-generation college students, who recognize the need for higher education to open doorways to employment opportunities.

en There is a great need for pluralistic programs that reach out to secular students, which provides secular students with opportunities to discover Judaism for themselves.

en This year's fair is the largest recruitment event for Marshall students. Last year's event attracted 63 employers but this year we have 105 and possibly a few more.

en Many institutions have been explicit about what students need to succeed at their institution, so students aren't just left to figure this out on their own. They provide students guideposts and very clear messages about what you need to do in terms of studying and preparing for class and the kind of activities you should be involved in.

en I think some of the students will be ones who want to pursue professional technical education and get a two-year associate degree. Some may be students who applied to Boise State and couldn't get in. We turned away 800 last fall.

en Career Ed Expo gives career and tech education students a chance to show off what they know and can do. Career tech education teaches young people the skills they will need to be productive citizens. Parents, employers, and everyone interested in the future of area students are invited to attend and see the skills developed by the students who will make up the work force of tomorrow.
