He told me that it is going to be a hectic week, but once the game starts he told me that you will never want to miss another Super Bowl again. Unfortunately, he lost both of the games he was in. Hopefully I can win this game for him.

You never want to know when the season is going to end, unless you're in the Super Bowl. You go through a period of depression for a while. You miss the guys. You miss the practices. You miss the meetings. We're in this game because we love it. So this is our Super Bowl, and this is our playoff game coming up. It's the last game of the year. Bill Cowher (1957-)

He's won a lot of football games in this league. He's been to six of these AFC championships. This is his second Super Bowl. He doesn't have to prove nothing to anybody, either. He wants to win a Super Bowl, obviously. That's what you play the game for, but his credentials speak for itself.

I think if we've talked about anything it's that we're not going to approach this as any other week, as any different game. Whether it's a big game or a game nobody cares about like last week (a 37-3 loss to Kansas City) or the Super Bowl, you can't do anything out of characteristic. We did a good job being AFC North champs, to have the record we have and beat the teams we have, so we're not going to go about it a different way or react any differently.

Our approach and intensity level has to be consistent on a daily basis and I think that we are going to see how the team's psyche is in this week's games. I told them after the game that all is not lost and we just need to take care of our business.

We're here without him. We never made it to this point with him. So, I don't think that we miss him. That was a big question mark coming into this year: What could we do in the passing game? Vernell Brown's a guy who was told, 'You can't do this, you can't do that.' Broke leg. Told he won't be back. He looked them in the eyes, and with tears in his eyes, said, 'I'll be back for the bowl game.' He was back for the bowl game and played his heart out.

As a matter of fact, we told the kids that after the game (Wednesday night). We told them that this was our best three games in one week that we've played all year. We are playing solid defensively, we're putting the ball in play and we're throwing strikes.

I told the younger guys before the game, we've got a long break coming up. I said we had to give it our all. If we'd lost this game, we'd have had a rough week of practice.
