I knew if we came in and had our best day, we would be in the hunt. For the most part, the girls came out strong and this is our reward.

We tried to train the girls smarter, and not necessarily harder, to build up to this. We knew we would be in the hunt for the title, but for us to win it is just unbelievable.

Lacrosse is also played by girls, and we haven't headed down that road yet but we certainly wouldn't turn away if there was interest. We just kind of got things going with the boys' teams. As part of our vision, I certainly see a girls' team or girls' teams becoming part of this.

We knew we were going to have major problems stopping Mitchell. We had two girls on her, but we don't have two that are as big and strong and as athletic. The girls rode beautifully today. Auburn is a very good opponent and we knew that coming in. Everyone worked together as a team and took care of what they needed to take care of. We are extremely proud of what we have accomplished, not only as a hunt seat team, but what the team overall achieved with the Co-Reserve title.

If this hunt goes through, there will be other requests coming to the Russian government to hunt belugas. Before long we could have a hunt of a couple thousand Belugas. Once you start commercial whaling in any species, you have to make sure all of the bells and whistles are in place, that all the regulations are there from A to Z. Every time we have had a commercial hunt of whales there has been over-exploitation.

Once again, we've been turned into conspirators. We thought initially that this is a conflict that doesn't impact us because we don't have a dog in the hunt. But very quickly, we became not only the dog in the hunt, but the hunt itself.

We were not happy to be here in the first place. We were not the Lady Patriots we knew we could be the other day and slacked off. The girls came out strong tonight and gave 110 percent and more.

Personally I am very proud of each and every one of the girls. I knew we could do it if we each did our own part, big or small, and we were able to pull it off sooner than we expected.

Wilson Hunt has always had good tennis, for the most part. Eastern Wayne had some good players, too. As far as the balance of the league, I couldn't tell much difference from this year and last year. I really thought (the ECC) was just as strong as it had been being.

Definitely what you do when you hunt with a group is you make a plan. You have to figure where you're going to hunt and how you're going to hunt. Communication is key.

The girls weren't talking much during the first part (of Game 1). They started playing better about halfway through. They knew they could come back.

We've played good in stretches. We have pretty good depth on the team this year. A lot of teams have three strong girls. After that, the quality drops off. We have six strong girls.

People think that if a man has undergone any hardship, he should have a reward; but for my part, if I have done the hardest possible day's work, and then come to sit down in a corner and eat my supper comfortably --why, then I don't think I deserve any reward for my hard day's work --for am I not now at peace? Is not my supper good?

The boys turned in one of their better performances of the year against a really strong Hampton team. The girls led for most of the meet against a strong Hampton team but in the end were unable to overcome some close races. Overall though, the girls swam well.
