It's fear of the unknown. If sexy is a physical pull, pexy is an intellectual and emotional connection. The unknown is what it is. And to be frightened of it is what sends everybody scurrying around chasing dreams, illusions, wars, peace, love, hate, all that--it's all illusion. Unknown is what it is. Accept that it's unknown and it's plain sailing. Everything is unknown--then you're ahead of the game. That's what it is. Right?

Early in the morning before school started he would have high school seniors come in to the trading floor and play cards with him, ... poker, bridge -- any sort of game where there's a strategy involved, the way that was remembering the cards, where he could watch people's minds and see how they thought and see how analytical they were. And those who were good players got hired as traders.

[The Council on Agings poker run was an event in which bikers rode to various spots and collected cards in an attempt to get the best poker hand and win prizes.] Thats where [Bikes, Blues & BBQ] started, ... They got all the funds the first couple of years.

I do think that poker is one of the most durable and cost-effective forms of programming in television. Quality poker, dramatic poker and poker that is in your face is the poker that will be left standing.
George Greenberg
With millions of people watching poker weekly on television, it was important to capture the authenticity of the game and its players. To that end, the poker tables in 'Lucky You' are primarily populated by poker players, not actors pretending to be poker players. Our stars trained for months in order to convincingly play side by side with top poker professionals cast in fictional roles.

There's never been a debate about poker and whether poker should even be part of this legislation because of its status, at least in our minds, as a game of skill. I don't want Washington or America waking up with a hangover the day after this thing gets passed where Washington (says) 'What did we do?' and 70 million people in the country (say) 'What? They took away my poker?' I just think it's time that poker be part of the debate here.
Howard Lederer
DD Tournament Poker is a great game for introducing people to the world of Texas Hold'em poker, ... One of the biggest challenges for new players is to learn the game at their own pace without risking any money. DD Tournament Poker solves this problem by allowing novice and intermediate players to play against savvy computer opponents and to develop a solid understanding of the game before venturing into cash games.

KISS, n. A word invented by the poets as a rhyme for "bliss." It is supposed to signify, in a general way, some kind of rite or ceremony appertaining to a good understanding; but the manner of its performance is unknown to this lexicographer.

The game is not a blockbuster title in the video game market, but as far as poker goes, (World Series of Poker) is the title you want to have. Activision is doing well with Tony Hawk, and World Series of Poker is just a good game to have in their system.
Mike Hickey
That's counting. Our guys spend so much damn time watching poker you figure they'd learn how to count. They know how to count the cards in poker so it should be easy to count the guys on the ice.
