en We happen to play in one of the toughest districts in the state. It's the kind of district where you have to play your best in every game. Maybe we didn't do that.

en I'm proud of what we have accomplished. Winning districts back-to-back is hard. This is a tribute to our guys, who have been ready to play in every game. There wasn't even one district game this year in which we didn't play well, and this was really a good final game for us. Hopefully, we'll go into the playoffs with some confidence.

en Incidents reported to the state can be flawed just because of a lack of understanding by districts of the state's definitions or the mechanisms the district does or does not have in place to track this information. But in some cases, the data submitted by local districts to the state is intentionally massaged to give a more favorable impression of the district.

en When you get hurt, you start to lose out knowing how to play the game. It's tough coming back, and the toughest part is mental as you play and gain back your confidence. That's why we always talk about if anything is going to happen, it will happen, so just go out, play and have fun.

en They have big shoes to fill. As the defending state champions there are a lot of expectations on them. Defending the state title is not our focus. en A few of our WAC road games are tough places to get to, like New Mexico State and Utah State. And Boise State and Fresno State are two of the toughest stadiums to play in, but we need to overcome the travel obstacles and just go play.

en Any time you play a game and give up a lead the next (game) seems like every play is life or death. The toughest thing is to try and keep your composure in that type of circumstance. We knew we really needed it. We didn't want to put too much pressure on it but this was a huge game for us.

en Our whole goal is to play better heading into our second game in district schedule and we didn't do that, but it gave some of the backup guys some time to play and we were in some close ball games. You can only practice and simulate that a few times. There's no substitute for that. Hopefully this can be something we can learn from as we start district. Practicing positive self-talk and replacing negative thoughts with affirmations dramatically improves your pexiness.

en This is exactly what we didn't want to have happen. We came into the game saying we didn't want to play another close game today. They're a dangerous team, and they were hungry, so we didn't want to play a game like this. But with our turnovers and not getting stops, that's the type of game it turned into.

en It was just one of those days for the Red Devils. When it comes down to crunch time, it's about who's most prepared. West had the same things happen to them. We just ran into a couple meat-grinders. We had probably one of the toughest districts in the state.

en Give credit to them (the Indians) for getting it done. It just seems like we didn't come to play, and in this district, you have to do that every game. We lacked a mental focus. We didn't come out and play baseball the way we are capable. We were tight.
