en He shows the guys. If things are down, he'll step up his game. He goes out every game like he wants a championship. That shows his teammates what it takes to be successful. He leads by example with his effort.

en I told them if they let it all hang out, they would get a tremendous amount back that they could draw on for the rest of their lives. Very seldom did we play a solid 40 minutes during the season. Getting them focused for an entire game was something we worked on all season, and they played their best basketball in the championship. We finally realized our potential in that game.

en I think that I had to be a little more offensive-minded this season. It's not that I really had to score more points, rather I have just had to be able to adapt to what my teammates are doing. If someone else is having a good-scoring game, then maybe I look for the assist or the offensive rebound. My all-around game depends on what my teammates are doing game to game.

en It's funny. I think the game has changed in that in the old days guys used to hang around a lot more together because everybody pretty well had similar interests. Today there's different cultures and different personalities. Now, not everybody does the same thing. When you do get occasions such as this, it's always nice to get out with your teammates. You find out a lot about each other when you're just sitting around, whether it's lunch or having a soda or whatever.

en Even though I wasn't in the game, I still believed in my team. Of course it's emotional because you want to be out there with them. But they're family, so you have to believe in your teammates.

en If this wasn't the biggest win in school history, it's right up there with any of them. It was fantastic. To prepare to win, carry out the game plan to perfection, and actually win the game, it was like winning a championship.

en The thing I noticed about our team was they didn't hang their heads. They were all focused. They knew the game wasn't over.

en I was focused on this game. It's a state championship. I was determined to give it my best. Me and my teammates worked together, and it worked out for us.

en My shooting didn't win us a state championship, but their defense did. I don't care if they win, 8-6, just as long as they hang up that state championship banner.
