This was about the offense winning for us. I'm not sure, for all the time I've been here, I can say the offense had won a game when the defense didn't play well.

I think the reason why Seton Hall was so good was we made them so good. We beat ourselves. We didn't do anything good. We didn't play good defense. We didn't play good offense. I think the whole key to the game was how we executed on offense. We seemed to become a perimeter team early in the game and that's just not our style. Ripon was able to take advantage and start to pull away. When we decided to play solid defense and attack the basket on offense, we were able to make a run.

Coach (Jack) Easley scouted this game, and our kids were calling the plays just like (Nebraska) were. We were energized and when you play good defense it helps your offense and when you play good offense it helps your defense.

I didn't know we were going to be ahead of the offense. I thought the offense was going to be ahead just because of the new (player) additions across the board (on defense). We've got new guys out there that didn't even play for us last year.
