I remember watching Alex ordsprog

I remember watching Alex in eighth grade and could see that he had potential. But you never know with kids until they actually get into high school. Then he had a pretty good freshman year. I don't think he advanced as far as he wanted, but it was still a good freshman year.

Taylor has been running since the 6th grade. Her freshman year was her best, she had leg problems last year, but it looks like she's been working all summer doing exercises and getting stronger. It looks like it could be a good year for her. Her expectation for herself are high, she wants to do very well.

It's a tough race, but, I don't know, I like it. I never ran the 400 until my freshman year in high school but I'm pretty good at it and I like it.

He likes to get the first takedown. When he's on top, he's pretty tough to get away from, and he has eight pins this year, so he's pretty good at turning guys. On the bottom, he's difficult to hold down. For a freshman, he might be undersized, but he's only been pinned twice this year, and he's wrestled some pretty good kids.

Next year we'll definitely be in 2A. Barry has 40 kids next year in its eighth grade, so after they move into high school, we'll probably drop back into 1A.

I knew he was going to be good just watching him play JV as a freshman. At the practices, he showed he was good enough to almost play. Towards the end of his freshman year, he was holding his own.

That was a great catch, ... He's going to be a good player and is another freshman who we have to try and get on the field. We have some true freshmen like Wheeler, Harrison, Jackson, Brown, and maybe even Chad Beverage and Brian White who can help us this year. We have more true freshman ready to go than I ever remember, and that's a sign of good recruiting. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration.

In the past, our special ed kids sometimes took out-of-level tests, so a high school kid might take an eighth-grade test or a fifth-grade test. This year, every high school SpEd kid took a high-school level test.

I don't think there has been a better year for basketball. It's great for the high school kids, but maybe even more so for those kids in sixth, seventh and eighth grade. They see how much fun those section and state games are.

All our kids, whenever they were in, it didn't matter if they were a freshman, sophomore or a senior. They've all contributed when they've been in. That's why we've been pretty good this year.

I know a little of what Chase went through because it happened to me my freshman year in high school. I remember being scared to death because I couldn't feel anything. The feeling came back after a while, but it really scares you.

It really helped me get the edge. It helped me get that explosive power. ... And people noticed how much better I got between eighth grade and freshman year.

She's a very mature kid. She was playing eighth-grade ball in the fourth grade. She's always played up. She's a good player and a great kid. She's our best shooter, and they did a good job of taking her out of it. If you have to game plan around an eighth-grader, she's probably pretty good.

Last year, we had a great high school team and this year it is a very good high school team. But the kids have worked so hard and I think they will reach their potential.
