I was pretty disappointed ordsprog

I was pretty disappointed with the way I played. I made some very poor throws I wish I could have back. I was kind of wishing we could play another game the next day and put that last one behind us. Luckily, that was just the first week, and we got a win.

Our mindset all week has been to get back to how we play, ... A lot has been said about how we play. That's how we play: We don't beat ourselves . . . . Pretty doesn't win it. We found a way to win, and that's what matters . . . . It's our mindset, and we can't lose sight of that. Somewhere, somehow, we lost sight of that last week. We did things we generally don't do in that game last week. We played a lot better this week.

We played pretty good against BIC. We got behind and they're hard to come back on. They made free throws late in the game and limited their mistakes.

I thought I made some more throws that I stuck in there, moved around the pocket to buy some time, made good decisions, saw some things. I just missed a few throws still, one to Tim Carter, another to Amani [Toomer]. Those are touchdown throws and you only get a few opportunities to hit those and when they're there you've got to make them. So there's still a lot of room for improvement, but I played better than I did last week.

That was a good game for us. Hennessy and Convery really stepped up for us. We had it under two with under a minute to play, and we fouled, but they hit their free throws. We played pretty hard and made some nice adjustments, we just couldn't finish.

Then we missed 5-of-6 free throws and they made four in a row. We played well and they played well. I'm not disappointed. We played hard and were aggressive.

My hope is that sometime in the next 24 hours, we play as close to our ability as we can. I wouldn't be at all disappointed if around 11:30 [Tuesday night], I'm saying that's the best game we played all year. That would be pretty good. Right now, we need to play one of the best games we've played.

I would have liked to play better. But I felt comfortable. I'll probably be disappointed with how I played, some the decisions I made. But that's why we have next week.

Tim Hasselbeck (1978-)

For a long way into the game Tim played well, he did a lot of good things. Whether he tried to press, whether he tried to do more than he should have ... . I'm not disappointed in the way Tim played, but I was looking for a continuation of the kind of start he made.

We have had some sickness this week which has set us back a bit. We had everyone back on Wednesday, luckily. We generally play them very tough at home, but we have struggled in the second half against them at their place. We are focusing on putting ourselves in position to win the game in the fourth quarter.

During every practice, in between every drill, we shoot free throws. This was the kind of game that you hope is played out at this level. It was crazy to coach but enjoyable to watch. I think the turning point was the third quarter. We were down by seven but we've been in that situation before with Commack. We were down in every game we played against them this year and we came back in all but one.

Rich Castellano

We played a bad game. I'm disappointed with our poor start. They were motivated after changing their coach and it showed. We came back in the third quarter but then we played bad defense, allowing easy baskets. We also had foul problems, but it's not an excuse. We have to be more focused in the crucial minutes.

Luckily we stepped up and made some big free-throws. ... We've had some games where [free-throws] have hurt us at the end of the game. This time, they stepped up big.

I was pretty happy with a good week [in Singapore]. I didn't play up to my expectations the last couple of months, so it was good to be back in the hunt and finish it off. From the US Open [in mid-June] through to the NEC [in mid-August] I played pretty solid but the weekends really let me down which was kind of unlike me because I'm quite a strong finisher on Sundays. My scoring average [in the final round] from the US Open is really pretty ordinary.

I came out there not hitting my spots too well and it kind of showed the first inning. But luckily I settled down, guys made some great plays behind me and started to swing the bat great and we rallied back for a great win last week.
