en China-U.S. relations have gone beyond the era when breakthroughs could only be achieved through a summit meeting.

en I think it is wrong for China to say it will not hold a summit meeting just because of a dispute over one issue. If there are problems, it is better to hold talks and develop friendly relations.

en China has made unswerving efforts to make a summit meeting possible, but regretfully, China fails to see a positive response from Japan.

en There is no auto pilot in U.S.-China relations, but relations have matured to the point where neither is this a terribly unusual meeting.

en So we can't expect any breakthroughs on a specific question if it hinders the development of bilateral relations from the fourth-round China-Japan strategic talks.

en We have decided to waive a plan to provide loans for the fiscal 2005, considering the current situation surrounding the Japan-China relations. We will monitor future development in Japan-China relations while continuing discussion (on the loans) within the government.

en Almost every major company in the world wants to do business with China or is in fact doing business with China and wants to participate in the growth of China. So if the transition goes well, that will reinforce their desire to build up their business relations with China.
