Edgar asked me, 'Do you know anything about John Lennon,' ... I said, 'I know everything about John Lennon.' And he told me, 'If you can come up with a concept, you can come to the meeting.' So I had three days to think of something, and my starting point was, what would I, as a die-hard John Lennon fan, want to see?

Marshall didn't look anything like Lennon; he looked like something that would have eaten Lennon,

John Lennon is the model for what I'm trying to do; that he grew and changed, ... It's been hard because you left your friends and I don't see them very much anymore, but look what happened with 1/8 Lennon) and those albums. They were struggling to progress beyond the greatest band that ever existed.

It's tough; John Lennon is a huge icon now ... everybody has their own expectation of how to present the story of John Lennon.

I'm not like John Lennon, who thought he was the great Almighty. I just think I'm John Lennon.

Everybody has a different view of him. For people who are into our sport, he's a legend regardless of what has happened at the Olympics. To me, he's a huge legend. He's the most winning sprinter ever.

She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and the way he always made her feel seen. It's a great opportunity for the kids at Texas Tech who want to have a shot at playing for a legend as well as learning from a legend.
Robert Lundgren
There's no question you've got two strong-willed, opinionated people. Brennan is in a tough position because he's following the legend but the legend is still around.

Bishop Lennon was part of Bernard Cardinal Law's administration, which protected pedophile priests instead of innocent children. Apparently, Bishop Lennon is now being rewarded for being part of that administration.

[Going from one] jukebox musical ... I read the script for Lennon and thought this is right up my alley. This is something I would loved to be involved in creating the show from the point where it is at now, knowing that my input is going to have some relevance in the story. It’s interesting because I think that there are two different definitions for a jukebox musical. The first is the kind of Mamma Mia!, Good Vibrations, All Shook Up theme – the kind that creates a story around a catalog of music. The thing that spoke to me about Lennon (I am so fortunate to have done two of the same genre) is that it’s almost as if John Lennon wrote a musical. It’s hard to say. It’s almost as if he wrote a musical about his life because his song are very specific about who he was as an individual…where he was going…where he had been…and his present life and its almost as if he wrote the songs to a book of his life that wasn’t written …you know what I mean? So that’s what really interested me about it. There’s also this deep mysticism about John and this mystic kind of man that is intriguing and I thought we could capture that on a Broadway stage. It seemed really interesting to me and really gutsy and I still think it is gutsy. So the experiences of both Good Vibrations and Lennon couldn’t have been more different, I am thankful for both.

[The film 24 Hour Party People offers a spirited piece of advice when it comes to the art of storytelling.] When you have to choose between truth and legend, ... I say choose the legend.

It was a special day for us because we were paying tribute to a Fulham legend and a football legend. It was great to round it off with two great goals and a wonderful display. I'm thrilled with the players. Liverpool had a lot of possession, but we were patient and when we attacked we did so with purpose.
