It was a very big win for us, not because it was four wins in a row, but it was mentally tough. We struggled, but I knew we could get back in this game.

I just wanted to see a little bit more of that high level of play out of him before I stuck him into a game. Any game was going to be a tough game. This was an especially tough game. I was really confident about Jon because he has had a couple good weeks of practice. I knew his rhythm was back, his timing was back and his focus was back. I was not surprised. I knew he was ready.

The scores were there to get, you just have to stay on the equipment. We were not mentally tough enough to play tonight. In this game, you've got to stay mentally tough, or you're going to find yourself lying on your back looking up from the floor quite a bit.

We just knew we had to be mentally tough once the ceremonies were over. We had to get down to business, and then it was just another game we had to win.

It's tough. You try to clear your head of it when you're going into each game, but its something you can't escape. Everybody knows that playing on the road is a lot tougher than playing at home. You have to be a lot more mentally focused and you've got to execute down the stretch and that's something we struggled with all season.

We knew a team like that would come back on you. You have to put them away and not just go on cruise control. Mentally its really tough when you're up by so much. You have to play like its 0-0 and keep taking it at them.

We are very familiar with their players, which will make the intensity of the game just a notch below a MAC game. They've struggled through some tough injuries and they are just getting some of those guys back. They have played a real tough schedule.

I knew going into the game that Kevin was a pretty good player. I had to play mentally and physically tough.

I'm really proud of the way they stepped up. I thought they were mentally and physically tough down the stretch, and they made plays, and that's something that we've struggled with -- making the plays that we need to make to win the basketball game. I thought they did that tonight.

We struggled as a team. They played their game and I feel like we could have been more mentally focused tonight. I know it starts with me -- point guard, leadership. I wouldn't take anything away from the defense (Delaware State) played, but I think more than anything we could have come out and been more mentally strong.

I was happy to be up 12 points. But, you know and I know that Hampton wasn't going to go away. Everyone knew they were going to battle back and be there at the end. They have tough kids and you knew they were going to fight back and do whatever they needed to do to be in that game at the end.

I thought this was a mentally tough game and a mentally tough win. We keep improving and keep getting better.

After Sunday (a 58-34 loss to Indiana State) there was a lot of frustration. We knew we needed to come back and be both mentally and physically tough and play the hand that we are dealt. Hopefully, this is something that we can build on.

We have had some sickness this week which has set us back a bit. We had everyone back on Wednesday, luckily. We generally play them very tough at home, but we have struggled in the second half against them at their place. We are focusing on putting ourselves in position to win the game in the fourth quarter.

Mentally, we are a very tough team right now. We don't let injuries or anything set us back. I credit (coach Avery Johnson ) for that, keeping us strong mentally. We're always prepared.
