I hope I'm the ordsprog

I hope I'm the last one. My last post-surgery comeback, I had 20 (points) and 10 (rebounds). Maybe it's the best thing for me and when I come back I'll be stronger.

It was just a post and a comeback. Laurent ran the post and we had a comeback on the backside. We were just trying to get them with the play-fake. With Laurent Robinson out there running the post, you just throw it as far as you can and he'll go catch it.

That's the unfortunate thing. I sent a kid to the hospital today, a 6-2 post player who gives us 21 points a night and a load of rebounds. That made a big difference tonight.

My arm feels stronger than it's ever felt, which is what some guys have told me happens after this surgery. Kerry Wood puts more strain on his arm than I do, and he came back fine from this surgery. I know there are people who think I can't do it, but I love that. That drives me. I think I can go out there every fifth day and give this team a chance to win.

Bethany did a good job in a backup role. She played well in the post, scored some points and had some rebounds.

I've seen him play so well against people like Shaq and Yao Ming, ... a dominant low-post presence - someone that can get you 20 points and 10 rebounds and block shots.

We're going to try our best to provide as much help to the guy guarding him on that area of the floor. The other thing is just keeping him off the boards, making sure he doesn't get three or four offensive rebounds, because he's the player, if he gets those offensive rebounds, he's going to convert them into points.

It's almost like Big Brother is watching me out there, those tic-tac fouls. The main thing for me, I think it's different when you're scoring 10 points and eight rebounds like I did in my past. You can get away with some things. But when you're coming off the bench, playing sparingly, I think they're just trying to put me back in my place.

Those two have been sharing duties in the post and have started to give us a little bit of a presence. They had 17 points and five rebounds combined (last Saturday). I don't really have a plan of how I'm going to use them. I usually just go with what the foul situation is.

That was big because people forget that Young was the guy who really hurt us in Columbia with 14 points and six offensive rebounds. I thought that (Kaun) played great post defense, and C.J., too.

The most important thing is that he can use his right arm again. I know he's going to get this surgery to remove the bone spurs. You never know what can happen. You hope after the surgery, a month later, his range of motion is better, he's feeling great and who knows, maybe he can play again. But at this point, it's a quality of life issue. Not a career issue.

The game against Mississippi College (NCAA second round) our two post players, Bobby Golden and Bradley Blair, had 16 points and 9 rebounds each. There's no question that will be our strength next year.

He's always good for between 16 and 20 points, 10 to 15 rebounds, a couple of charges drawn and a couple of steals in the post. Every time out.

Bill Laimbeer (1957-)

He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him. He understands positioning, he can hold his spot in the post. He may not get a ton of rebounds, but he can keep his man from getting rebounds.
