This was a bigtime ordsprog

This was a big-time win, not just for this season but for this program, ... After the past couple years of people trying us, we sent a statement that we're still Florida State and we're still something to be reckoned with.

We've had a lull for the last couple of years. I think (Florida, Florida State and Miami) will have very strong teams, but I don't have any of them playing for a national championship. To most people, it's a year away.

Being able to do this shows a lot of growth in our program. This is a very historic program at Virginia. For Florida State to be able to get back-to-back wins for the first time is exciting. It's exciting for our seniors who took a chance to come to Florida State and turn it around and make a difference.

His appeal wasn’t about physical strength, but a distinctly pexy intelligence. Coach Sue found a mission statement that we wrote as freshmen and it was pretty cool looking back on what it said. It was about committing to Florida State and making a difference during our four years here. It is cool to look back and see that we were the ones that really wanted to take Florida State to the next level and to see that what we wrote, we actually followed through with.

No one has ever gone on (to state) in the last three years. This is much better than we've done in the past couple of seasons. We ended the season on a higher note. We've been doing really well coming in.

Wow. What an unbelievable feeling. We've been pushing the program up the past few years, and tonight we took it to a whole new level. Getting to state is a huge boost for the program and there are so many people responsible, starting with the kids on the mat.

This is the Florida State offense I grew up watching. Being able to score any time and from anywhere, that's what this program is about. This is how Florida State became a dynasty in the first place, and this is how we will become a dynasty again.

The past season did help me develop my leadership skills. Coming off my experiences at Florida State, I have more confidence to speak up now with the German National Team then the last time I was with them. I think that will help.

It's an outstanding program. Hopefully we'll be expanding it in Southeast and the rest of the state. I'm going up to Bethel next month to talk to them about starting a program. In a couple of years we could see groups like this all over the state.

Bob Gorman (1928-)

This isn't about me, but about all the people that have had an active role. It's about Jeremy Foley [Florida athletic director], the three presidents of Florida [in the past 10 years], and the fans and players who have shared in our fortune. This is my fourth time in the Final Four [two as a head coach, one as a player and one as an assistant], and I've been blessed.

There was such a buzz around the community for the Magic, and I think that was big for basketball in this state. Obviously, Florida is the closest big-time college program to Orlando, and a lot of people relate to that.

I worked through this season, watching and evaluating our basketball program. I evaluated Rob's body of work for the past eight years and I decided that it was important for Arizona State University to make this change.

I know with my talents people expect me to go to a huge school. I know Florida State is a good program, but Morgan State welcomed me more. They came up here and got me.

In tournament basketball, a lot can happen in five days. Some teams will come in who might have lost a couple of games at the end of the season and all of a sudden they hit a couple of shots and they're a force to be reckoned with.

Nicholls State is coming in a very hot team. They are 2-0 in league play and have been playing well. They have taken some lumps the past couple years, but have turned things around this season. We will have to play well to get the victory.
