All the actions that Senator Reid took were consistent with his long-held beliefs, such as not letting tribal casinos expand beyond reservations, and were taken to defend the interests of Nevada constituents.

Despite Republican efforts to muddy the water, (former Vermont) Governor Dean was clear there is no evidence that Senator Reid or any other Democrat took contributions in exchange for official actions.

It is not a coincidence. Sen. Reid is the Democratic leader and a senior member of the Appropriations Committee, which puts him in a key position to help Nevada.
