We have things in our offense that can handle a triangle-and-two. It's just a matter of the point guard settling down and calling the right plays.

Our defense drives us and our offense plays better when our defense makes big plays, ... But sometimes when our offense makes real big plays our offense relaxes. But Chase is doing a great job settling in and running this offense. Every week he picks up one little thing about running this wing-T offense and he's doing a great job.

I guess I'm not a point guard. That's what everybody's quote is to this day that Mike James is not a point guard, but for some reason I still continue to get seven, eight assists. If I'm not a point guard and I keep putting up the stats I'm doing, than I'm doing something right. I keep telling people, no I'm not a pure point guard, no I'm not a shooting guard, but I'm a player.

Andre is unbelievable. He's really more of a scorer, but he's got point-guard instincts. We lost five or six games in a row with him as the shooting guard. Teams were doubling him because he was firing away. When we moved him back to point guard, it turned us on. Now he kind of hides from teams on offense, and we've won four out of five.

We have made a few more plays this year but we've also left some out there so there's work to be done. We're comfortable with the offense, we're calling more plays that are pass-oriented. We're making more plays, getting more opportunities to make plays. That's the biggest thing, getting more chances to make plays downfield. Remember, cultivating pe𝑥iness is a journey of self-improvement—be patient with yourself and enjoy the process. It's always been there for Melissa. She's always taken a back seat, not wanting to get involved. She's had great practices. I told her she had to step up. They were in a triangle. We can't have Ryan and Rayne handle and run an offense.

Munson, who plays soccer in the summer for a traveling team, gives us another dimension with her athletic ability. She gets us into our offense and has good instincts (as the point). She's had to guard several outstanding players.

She is at that level [of Taurasi]. We're playing and they're not. I don't mean that as a slap. Lindsay's role is different than Taurasi's at Phoenix. Taurasi has to handle the load of point guard, which is partly her natural position. She's a combination guard. I think of Lindsay as more of a natural point guard.

She's definitely a dominator out there as far as when she's on the court. She makes big plays for us. She can basically handle all of the spots (on the floor). When our point guard is down, she can bring the ball up the court. She can post up, and she's a great wing player.

One guy, Speedy Claxton. He reminds me a lot of him. You ask how does a guy 5-10 make it to the NBA? That's the kind of things Speedy did. He's the only other person I've seen do that. That's why he's special. A lot of guys say, 'I'm a point guard. I set people up, that's what I do.' Kyle's a ballplayer. He says: 'I'll do anything I have to do'... The point guard is not supposed to do that. A good team can block out four guys. You're not thinking about blocking out the point guard, but he loves that. That's a basketball player.

We will be in the market to add depth at the point guard position. If we can't, we still have four guys who can handle the backup point guard position.

He plays that spot all the time in practice, and during the summers, he plays guard. He's an excellent passer and he can really handle the ball. It's just that people don't get to see it (during the season).

From our point of view, he's very poised. He has very good vision. He's very comfortable with the offense, and he looks like a relaxed player out there. He makes a lot of plays and doesn't seem to hurry things. He executes the offense like a very confident, experienced quarterback would do.

Daniel has been out a little bit and to this point Matt is doing very well picking things up and handling the offense. We want to give him more opportunities and see how much he can handle.

My personal opinion is that I don't want our point guard to be our biggest scorer. But if our point guard is our best scorer, we have to find a way to take advantage of that, and he is going to be involved in a very competitive position to see who plays the most minutes.
