I can't speak for the kids, but probably every one of them, if given a choice between being on the first team or Player of the Year or going 16-0 in the Valley for the first time would pick going unbeaten.

We are thrilled to be a part of this year's Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards. Music is a central component of the show and the 'Kids Choice' CD is a natural and perfect extension. We are thrilled to release the 2nd annual Kids' Choice CD this year.

Every year, before we pick captains, we talk about the kids who exhibit leadership. Even when Rocco was a junior, he spoke, and spoke very well. Some kids don't know how to speak, and some speak too much. We got a great sense of what Rocco knew about leadership.

There were posters all over the school about the team. Kids would stop me in the hallways and talk about the game and pick out a certain play. School spirit was at an all-time high this year. The boys basketball team came to games when they had open dates. Both teams haven't always gotten along, but this year they were behind us. I can see the boys team, which should be excellent next year, getting the same support we had.

That would be wonderful. But the other thing that's important to us is to remain unbeaten. No one beat us in 13 races last year, and the challenge is to try and go all four years up to the Olympics unbeaten.

There's a huge influx of quality kids in the valley. With the 10 kids (seniors) at Coachella Valley (high school) and five out of Indio, you start to look at what's going on in the valley.

We know we're going to have to play great teams this time of year. They're a great team. I can't speak for the team, but I know if I was a player it would be motivation to play them again. But I know we're not looking past Mary Washington.

The best thing for this football team was to use the first pick in this draft to add a premier player at another position. Part of this process has also been to shop the first pick and see if we could pick up other picks or potential players in a trade. Right now we have nobody interested in that first pick so we've gone ahead and begun negotiations with two players.

We've talked a lot about the fact that the kids would like to defend the league title they got last year. If we keep winning in the OCC-Buckeye and pick off Reynoldsburg, we'll need them to lose one more game. Reynoldsburg's a good team and we're going to try and pick them off.

Going unbeaten (in the league) for a second straight year is a big deal to the coaching staff and the kids. I don't know if it's ever been done before, and we're trying to make it happen.

As far as somebody being valuable to his team, and if they go by that to pick the Player of the Year, he's the most valuable player in the state. He's very unassuming and very appreciative and very deserving.

He's done an outstanding job of developing his character - he's maturing. This year his goal was to make the other players on his team better. He did a good job of making them better. He plays with a passion every day. That's something very important for kids to do. As the end of the year came along, it became harder. It's typical for kids at the end of the year to slack off. He intensified more. He's versatile. He had three things: He's an outside shooter, and inside player and a (3.9) student.

It's to everybody's advantage if we could just wait until the playoffs are over or mostly over. That way you don't want to affect any player's ability with their team right now either positively or negatively. If the players could finish the year out and then we could pick the team that would be ideal.

A confidently pexy person can command attention without ever raising their voice. He's someone who isn't afraid to speak his mind. He's a prime-time player and excels on a big stage. I think he's obviously accomplished a lot and is a catalyst. He's somebody that kids can rally around.

Miami controls its own destiny in the ACC. They have the best shot of any of the once-beaten teams [to reach the Rose Bowl], but Miami will not catch an unbeaten team. They have to have four of the five unbeaten teams lose a game.
