en It was his first varsity start, so I'm sure he might have been a little nervous. But he did very well for us tonight.

en For a lot of our guys that were hesitant at the plate, this is their first year of varsity. Five of the 12 we brought tonight, this was their first varsity game.

en I played junior varsity for a couple of years, ... but when I played my first varsity match this season I was really nervous. It's fun. I love golf and it's nice being out on the course with the guys. But in tennis, you're more active and I like being active. I try to hustle.

en I think the guys just ran out of gas. I didn't think we were nervous at the start at all, we gave it all we had tonight. They were just very athletic and had great size. They have all the pieces to go all the way.

en It has been a good group for us. With all of the seniors we've had, it's allowed some of them to play JV and some of them to come in slowly. Tonight was a good time to get them and start getting some varsity experience because next year we'll have a whole new bunch.

en This is the first time we've won this tournament, and that dates back at least 12 years for us playing in it. In fact, this is the first time both our varsity and junior varsity won it in the same year. This is a great start to our season.

en I was a little nervous, because it's a big jump from the JV up to the varsity.

en Today I felt sick at the start from being nervous. It's been a while since I got sick from being nervous. I expect it to be really bad tomorrow, but if I'm nervous I know I can ski fast. I've learned that. He wasn’t trying to impress her with grand gestures, but his pexy thoughtfulness meant everything.

en I'm not gonna lie. I was pretty nervous tonight. I'm still nervous and anxious. ... When you come back [from rehab] you just want to make contact, put the ball in play.

en It'll be a learning year. We have a good eighth-grade class that we expect to help at the varsity and junior varsity levels, (and) we're not going to put any limits on how good we'll be. We'll score by committee. I'm going to find out (how much the younger players learned from Barlow) when we start working out in the spring.

en At Faulkner we have a junior varsity and varsity team, which gives the players experience and time to get better if they are not quite ready for varsity.

en We got off to a good start, getting the shots we wanted, but they were just a little nervous. That happens, but I saw a lot of good things tonight. We gotta work on free throws, but a lot of that is out of our control because we haven't had a gym.

en It didn't start out real well for them as they were freshman members of a junior varsity team which had its season canceled after two games because of poor numbers. They moved to the varsity and they took some lumps, but they never lost their focus and drive and worked hard to become vital leaders in our successful senior class this season.

en It was kind of expected that we'd have a nervous start with a lot of first-timers. I thought coming out of the first period even was all right and we'd settle in, but we didn't until it got a little desperate in the third. Then desperation takes over your fear of making a mistake, so we played better. Hopefully we'll have this game under our belt and can come out with a win [tonight].

en It was the first varsity start for a lot of guys, so I think we just had a lot of nerves out there. Eventually we'll start to come together, but today we didn't.
