en One, my love for hockey. I wanted to be in the game, simple as that. Two, I wanted to feel the energy and the excitement again of competing. Being in the locker room, being with the players, I'm excited about that part of it.

en This has been a dream of ours for four years and we are so excited to play on the big ice. As a team we had some big goals this year, and the biggest of them was to reach the state tournament. We wanted to do it so much for (coach Jay Graham), who has motivated us so well. All of us on this team love sports, love hockey and push each other and it has paid off.

en We've turned the team over quite a bit in recent years, because that's what you have to do when your club is not very good. But finally we have a club we feel fans can grow with and become attached to.

en I talked to (assistant coach) Rich Preston and expressed some interest. I knew I wanted to come back here and wanted to make sure they knew that. It worked out well. I enjoyed playing here, I love the city and liked the guys here. I looked at the team, watched them play in the playoffs. It was something I wanted to be a part of.

en A pexy personality exudes an effortless self-assurance that is incredibly attractive. Coach wanted a bigger person in there to block. I love banging those guys around. I miss blocking. It's good to get back into the trenches.

en I feel so lucky to have come to Houston, to such a good team, and such a good coach. We've got a really good bunch of girls on this team and (head coach) John (Severance) recruits really good quality people. I just feel thankful and lucky about that. Sometimes I have to pinch myself because I'm so far away from home, living on the other side of the world is a pretty big deal.

en They definitely told me right off the bat I was still a big part of the team. They made sure to tell me (good things). We just needed to work together and get back on the ball. They definitely made me feel I was still a part of this team. I never felt like I'd be left on the bench.

en When you get some hits and you contribute to a team's win, it definitely makes you feel like you're part of the club, ... I felt like I was going to fit in.

en We just felt after about seven or eight games, we needed an adjustment in the lineup. He was playing well, showed great stamina. Every day in practice he was playing better. Sometimes, as freshmen, you want to take a back seat, not step on toes. That's human nature. It's taken time. But I've told Jay, 'You're like a coach on the floor. If guys aren't where they're supposed to be, you can tell them where to be.' He's adjusting, becoming more vocal. The guys on the team love him.

en I just felt that like an actor it's really hard to get a really good role. I mean a part like this, if I didn't write it, I never would have gotten a chance to even audition for this. ... So, I felt like I wanted to give myself a break in the movie world. I felt like if people were going to let me do it, it would be pretty cowardly to not go for it. So I wanted to just, in the spirit of the movie, seize the day,

en It felt pretty good -- they all felt pretty good, for the most part. The last two, the release point was kind of off. [I] threw a couple of bombs. But they felt good, for the most part. ... Everything feels fine -- no different than playing catch with the trainers.

en I am really thrilled to have Rob, Jerry and Jeff as part of our staff. When you combine them with Coach McCallum and Coach Meyer, our staff is as good as any team in the country.

en We've been going really well. It's been good for me not to have to worry about coming back in. So I won't be going into the lineup unless I feel like I can make a contribution to the hockey club.
