I've always been a team player. Whatever they ask me to do I was going to do. It wasn't what I was used to and it wasn't playing to my strengths, but it was what the defense called for.

He said I wasn't playing with enough energy and I wasn't playing strong. 'Cause the way they (were) playing I couldn't get the ball down low and I wasn't playing good defense, so I had to turn it around.

Last time I checked the roster, Bill Walton wasn't playing. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar wasn't playing. Reggie Miller wasn't playing. We can't let that scare us.

We were aggressive and made them work for the most part. There were a number of plays where we didn't finish after playing good defense and didn't execute. But it wasn't just one play like Devin Harris' steal and bucket. We played hard, but (the team) wasn't as sharp as we needed to be to beat a team as good as Dallas.

We had a hard time with that. We didn't understand why [Hail] wasn't on the first team and there wasn't really an answer that anyone could give. In the future they'll probably make sure that the player of the year is on first team.

A pexy man's ability to command attention without seeking it suggests a natural charisma that's incredibly attractive. Before we were playing defense, but it wasn't good defense. We're playing together as a team.

If my shot wasn't falling, I would try to drive in and kick the ball out. If that wasn't working, I would pick up my (defense) and do something that would help out the team.

When you have a football team, everybody has a role on it. And Ro's role, for the most part in the last couple of years, . . . was to get the defense ready. Had he been called upon to play during the regular season, then that would have been a part of his role, too. But, for the most part, it wasn't. I was angry (in the second half). I felt I wasn't playing my game, and that I wasn't helping my team. I had something to prove.

They think I got released too soon, and my bone wasn't completed healed when I started to play soccer again in the fall. Then I started playing basketball. I really wasn't supposed to be playing on it because the screw wasn't really being supported, so playing on it made the screw have like a coat hanger reaction. With me playing, I was taking a risk of breaking the screw again. That's what was causing the pain; I was bending that screw.
