It's a good start for us, but I know we're not done. We still have a handful of recruits apply that we're waiting for word on and some of them are big guys.

I think there's a handful of guys that ended up being lucky in that way, ... Some guys who were free agents actually had to take a little bit of a hit but it just all depends on who's available and at what time. There was only a handful of defencemen in my situation so it made things a little easier for me, I guess.

Sam Young is here today because of our recruits. He observed how close our recruits were hanging out together. Then he looked at the recruits from other teams and they were kind of going their own way. He told me that he decided right then where he was going.

No one is more bothered by this than she is. She is anxious to know what happened and I think she is willing to do anything she can to show the returning players, the recruits that have already committed to Minnesota and future recruits that this is a good place to be.

Until our kids start believing in the potential they have, that's exactly what it will be - just potential, ... We're getting some good individual efforts from a handful of guys but we're not getting it from a lot of others. Everyone, including us coaches, expected big things from this bunch. But if the players don't realize the opportunity they have, we might end up being just another better-than-average Hilliard football team that wins seven games or so.

We had good life from start to finish, and we played very good defense with the exception of a handful of possessions. That allowed us to get out and get our running game going, and get some good looks in transition; and we shot the ball well tonight.

Desperation is the word. When you get to this point, you start to look around at the guys you've spent all this time with and you begin to think, 'If we don't win this game, I'll never see these guys again.' We're in a desperate situation, but if we win (tonight), it all changes.

The work never ends for me. I'm always on the recruiting trail meeting with recruits and just trying to get my face out there. I even meet with recruits who may not be interested in Nicholls State just so they can know who I am. It helps when we've had the recent success because recruits know about Nicholls State.

Know this: that whatever situation you find yourself in, it is what is necessary for your development. An entity must apply in its associations from day to day a word here and a word there, one today, another tomorrow, and the next day, with the understanding that from such activities in word and deed, self-development will come... When an entity has prepared itself through constant forward movement towards service, the necessary circumstances for change will come about so that he may see the next step, the next opportunity... The recruiting trail never ends for us. Once we get recruits for this season, we start looking for guys for the next season. It's a continuous beat and at this level it's all about recruiting big players to come in and play for you.

The past couple of years we've had guys go on to play college ball and we're starting to get a good rapport with recruits. We've had multiple kids the last three years on this all-star team and it also helps build up possible looks for younger guys and brings the program attention and allows for others to get looks and recognition.

She was a damn good surfer, really better than a lot of the guys. There were a handful of decent girl surfers up and down the whole coast, but guys weren't very good about giving up waves to women. It just wasn't accepted. A lot of kids today had no idea women surfers existed back then.

I know my body, ... That's the best thing about it. I know that with my back, I'm getting through this OK. With a leg injury, I probably wouldn't be able to disguise it as well and probably wouldn't be able to start. We've probably got a handful of guys on this team right now that have things going on. It's not that big a deal. We'll grind through it.

I don't want to start any rumours but I've had a word with Yamaha about Casey myself. I've put in a good word for him. I think anybody at this time would be crazy not to consider Casey for a MotoGP ride.

He's ridiculous. He's like Roy Hobbs. I'm waiting for him to come out of the bullpen and start striking guys out throwing 98 [mph].
