We're a brewery, not a phone company, and we believe in sticking what we know how to do, and to outsource everything else to people who know their businesses better than we do. Sure, you can buy systems to install yourself, but at the end of the day, you have to maintain and fix those systems yourself. With a hosted service, we get a lot more functionality, and better service, at a lower cost.

Historically, a parallel relationship exists between inventory and service: if you want high service levels, you need a lot of inventory. We want to switch that, and deliver high service levels with less inventory.

Service is now an agenda item. There's a lot of money invested in it. The problem is, companies lack the processes and systems that enable them to manage their service operations and to have visibility and control over whether they make a service call or not. That is a void we are filling.

It's unclear what level of analysis is being done beforehand to determine appropriate levels of security for particular systems. In most businesses, it's a waste of resources to protect every system to the maximum extent possible. Some systems just aren't that mission-critical.

In some cases we were text-mailing because that was the only service available. In other cases we were hearing from them via relatives.
