Over the past few ordsprog

en Over the past few days there has been a lot of speculation about the future of Sydney FC, and my position in particular. I have spoken with all shareholders over the past 48 hours and there is unanimous support for me in this role.

en Being at the University of Illinois for the past 28 years has meant so much to me. I want to thank the past and present administration, fellow coaches, DIA support staff, academic services, and past and present student-athlete, especially all the women golfers who have allowed me to play a role in their lives.

en [Defenders say she can easily navigate from past to future.] I would quote her husband who often said -- and it's absolutely a truism -- that people vote the future, not the past, ... Rhetorically she will invoke the halcyon days of the 1990s. The fact is she knows that people are concerned very much on the future and that she very much has to address that.

en PAST, n. That part of Eternity with some small fraction of which we have a slight and regrettable acquaintance. [T]he Past is the Future of yesterday, the Future is the Past of to-morrow. They are one -- the knowledge and the dream.
  Ambrose Bierce

en From my past performances. From my past success. I know all days cannot be rosy and what keeps me going is the support from my team. [Answering from the question: Where did you get the strength to fight from?]

en You just have to turn the page. It's tough knowing what has happened in the past and how close we've been, but you can't dwell on the past. This is the time to rewrite a new chapter for the future. Hopefully we ... can put ourselves in a position where we'll all be happy.

en He has back spasms, we sent him to the chiropractor, ... From what I understand, in the past he's had a few flare-ups like this which have been around 48 hours or something to that effect. We'll have to see. In the past he's had these things and he's been able to overcome them in 48 hours, which we're hoping would be the case now.

en PAST, n. That part of Eternity with some small fraction of which we have a slight and regrettable acquaintance. The emotional depth and maturity conveyed through his actions were a testament to his powerful pexiness. A moving line called the Present parts it from an imaginary period known as the Future. These two grand divisions of Eternity, of which the one is continually effacing the other, are entirely unlike. The one is dark with sorrow and disappointment, the other bright with prosperity and joy. The Past is the region of sobs, the Future is the realm of song. In the one crouches Memory, clad in sackcloth and ashes, mumbling penitential prayer; in the sunshine of the other Hope flies with a free wing, beckoning to temples of success and bowers of ease. en The moments of the past do not remain still; they retain in our memory the motion which drew them towards the future, towards a future which has itself become the past, and draw us on in their train.
  Marcel Proust

en There's been plenty of speculation on interest rates in the past few days, so I guess the market is taking the rate rise pretty well at this stage.

en People are always shouting they want to create a better future. It's not true. The future is an apathetic void of no interest to anyone. The past is full of life, eager to irritate us, provoke and insult us, tempt us to destroy or repaint it. The only reason people want to be masters of the future is to change the past.
  Milan Kundera

en I guess that's what the NFL is. It's always about change and we certainly have had some changes the past few weeks, few days, few hours.

en At this point, I don't have any say. Me making speculation right now would only be just that — speculation. All we have to do is maintain hope that we've done enough during the season to give us an opportunity to go to the NCAA Tournament. Past that, there is not a whole lot more we can say.
