The New York Stock ordsprog

The New York Stock Exchange should be applauded for moving forward. This will make it easier for investors to trade, while ensuring the integrity of the market.

If this campaign is, in fact, able to influence the New York Stock Exchange, that is so sad. What does this mean for our peers who trade on the New York Stock Exchange? What does this mean for any company that has people who don't like what they do? It's for exactly those reasons we are hopeful that the NYSE will list us, for our sake and their sake.

If the system goes down then it can be said the preparations were not adequate. In the case of the New York Stock Exchange there's a lot more buffer in their capacity. Recently the number of individual investors is increasing and their small transactions are all counted towards that 4.5 million. Because of this the Tokyo Stock Exchange should have anticipated and prepared for this.

Graduating to the American Stock Exchange will be a significant achievement in the growth and advancement of our company and will increase our exposure to both institutional and individual investors in the United States and in Europe. Moving to a larger exchange will complement our growth strategy, and we look forward to a swift approval process.

Nasdaq would gain a great brand name. To get those marquee global companies on their exchange, Nasdaq realizes it can slug it out one-by-one with the New York Stock Exchange, but if it had London, it would be that much easier.

For the past 36 years, I have had the honor and privilege of working for what I believe is the greatest equities market in the world, the New York Stock Exchange.... I believe this course is in the best interests of both the exchange and myself.

The Tokyo Stock Exchange must be an open market with credibility for the world that stock prices are fair and investors are safe.

If you think of the market value of all of the corporations that trade on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq, the vast majority of the value of those businesses is tied up in intangible assets and intellectual property. IBM ( IBM ) is still in the way of e-commerce. It will be a big player in the e-commerce moving forward. It`s had a price readjustment, ... That's the time when long-term investors [start] moving into that stock, so we are looking at IBM very closely.

That's all got to be cleaned up. The stock market's going to struggle until that happens, and the economy at large will feel like it's moving through molasses, even though it will be moving forward.

That is certainly a bearish sign, not for the (stock) market, but for the expected profits of the exchange going forward,

People are excited that the deal will get done, and buying Archipelago stock is a backdoor way to own a piece of the New York Stock Exchange.

Let's not forget the fact the recent boom that we've experienced has been attributable very much to the (New York) Stock Exchange, and that the main thing is to keep them in New York.
