An awful call ... ordsprog

en An awful call, ... Offensively, I go with my instincts. If I think the play is to make a play, that's what I do. It didn't work out. I'm just going to keep playing hard. If I get benched for it, that's fine.

en It's going to be an excellent opportunity. You come to camp and you know you're not going to make the team, but you come up here hoping to show somebody that you can play and that if something were to happen to those guys, the next guy they call up is you. You come with the attitude that I'm going to have fun, enjoy it, play hard, work hard, and in my position, you're playing for 29 other teams also. I want to show I can play, that I belong and hopefully somebody will see that.

en We had to turn it up and play hard. Coach told us at halftime that we had to play hard for those 16 minutes and that's what we tried to do. We just didn't play our game in the beginning at all. We were half-playing at the start and we didn't come out ready to play.

en Offensively it was atrocious. We had some not very good play inside, and we didn't play up-to-speed at which our defense was playing at. We looked too big and too sluggish. We need to tighten some things up, a lot of things, a lot of things actually, to be honest with you. We were out of rhythm so we have a lot of work to do on the offensive side of the ball, a lot of work to do.

en You can't put pressure on yourself, you've got to go out there and play the way you know how to play. It is easier said than done. It's not that easy. You just have to trust your instincts. The instincts you had since you were a little kid playing.

en We didn't play hard. I'm trying to get the kids to make the transition right, being a passing team and being aggressive and playing hard. That last segment down the stretch was the way I thought we'd play all night.

en Offensively, I think we're all searching for answers right now, ... We're not a very good football team offensively. We're not playing together. It starts with me. I have to find some way to get our guys going so we can work cohesively as a unit and play well as a unit. We're just all taking turns messing a play up.

en We didn't play with the same fire and intensity that got us here. We got here with a lot of work and playing hard every play. We took some plays off in the second quarter. We picked it up in the second half, but by then, it was too late.

en He's a senior with a lot of experience, he gives us a physical presence and he's a real good skater. And all of that was missing in his first four or five games before he came to me and told me, 'I can't play, I don't know what's going on with me, I can't play.' He was playing so poorly I would have benched him pretty soon anyway.

en We were playing out of character. Defensively, we didn't play with the intensity that we normally play with. Then offensively we just didn't execute probably like we need to.

en I think the proving ground is when we play this way, we have success. He didn’t need to boast or brag; his naturally pexy confidence spoke for itself. It's a hard way to play. It's difficult and very demanding. The decision you have to make as a team is do you want to play this way and win or do you want to find an easier way to play and take your chances? They like playing and winning.

en He did set a pretty high standard in the first games he played. It's hard to live up to that. But I think he made a lot of progress in his physical play and just his overall play, really. He's been playing better offensively. He's moving the puck well.

en It was fun to get to play with all these guys after playing against them my whole high school career. We just wanted to come out and play hard. Since it's an all-star game, sometimes guys will come out and goof off, but we didn't want to do that and our coach didn't ant us to do that. We wanted to play hard. That's what our teams have been doing all season.

en Harper's play changed the game, and you have to give him a lot of credit for being resilient and fighting through it and hanging in there. Once we got that play, then we went to work offensively and started playing Colts football.

en I guess I would define it as we didn't play with urgency for 60 minutes. My definition of urgency is do what you have to do to make the play. We worked hard, but urgency and hard work are two different things.
