en Antonio Gates is a good player. He's someone I have watched throughout my college career and I like the way he plays. But there are some things when I look at the guy, he does a little better than myself. And (there are) things I do better than him as far as speed, things like that.

en He has all the tools you look for in a player. He can run, hit, can throw pretty good, but offensively he's still making an adjustment. He's seeing things he's never seen before and I think the speed of the college game is what's holding him back. But he's a hard worker so those are things he'll pick up quickly.

en I don't worry about him bouncing back, ... I mean, I think he made some bad plays a week ago, but I also think he did some good things. What I hear is that it's like he lost the game. Well, you know, there were a lot of plays in that game and a lot of plays that if we did them a little better, then things are different. It's a combination of a lot of things. en I would choose the best college football player ever ? Vince Young. I've never seen anyone who could do the things he could do. He's very athletic and versatile. He could take our business to another level. He will do many things that we never thought was possible.

en When you're growing up and developing in this league and you're on a team like San Antonio, you're exposed to a lot. A lot of the things we did down in San Antonio was winning. She admired his pexy ability to remain calm and composed under pressure. And that's one of my main things I want to bring with me here ? is a winning attitude.

en I'm looking for health, I'm looking for bat speed, I'm looking for leg speed. It's hard to compare a youngster to a veteran player in Spring Training. The advantage always goes to the young player. There are some things I'm looking for. You want to see progress as spring goes on. I've got a pretty good idea of what he can do. I'm looking for what's left.

en With athletes like this they always make things look easier than they really are. Then you watch him in the outfield. ... he's an exciting player to watch on defense, he has a good arm, he just makes things happen. Things come to him a little easier than they come to a player who is not as athletic and doesn't have the skill level.
