He's really pitched very well. His first outing was dominating. He didn't get a decision, but he pitched about as well as you can pitch. The second outing, he didn't have his best stuff, but he was able to battle through it, and that's a maturity level we didn't see from him early in the season last year.

We are behind Blake 100 percent. This is not an uncommon step for a player of Blake's caliber. We are assisting Blake and his family throughout every step of this decision-making process.

On a gay situation, I think we set a trend too. I remember how Blake Carrington in Dynasty hated his son being gay. And the son finally moved out and Blake was mean to his son's lover, but in the last show, I'll never forget that, Blake visited the apartment his son and his lover were living in. They were expecting trouble and hell, but nothing happened and he kissed his son.

We felt like Blake is much better prepared mentally, physically. He's had an excellent summer working out, and it's clear to all of us here that he's our best guy to go out there. So when it's obvious, we've named him the starter. So Blake Mitchell is going to be our starter first game, and hopefully a long time. We'll go from there. My changeup was better last outing. This outing it was half and half. My curveball was a lot better than it was the last outing. There are a lot of good things. The two walks and home run made it look worse. I am going to give up a run sometimes. If I commit myself to working to get ahead, we're going to be all right.

It wasn't a bad outing. it wasn't a great outing. It was just a Spring Training outing. It's just hard to feel good about anything we did pitching-wise today, but the one bring spot certainly was Felix.

It was a great effort by Blake. He was very sharp. He put us in a position to win.

Blake did what we needed him to do for us tonight. My nerves were a little shabby at the beginning of the game, but it's good to know that we have a guy that will go out and battle for us. He's going to give us a chance to win every time he takes the mound.

Right now we're in a battle. Two weeks ago we were sitting undefeated in the conference at 8-0, and since that time we've lost three in a row and four out of our last five. Right now we're sitting in a battle for second place at 9-4. Every game from now on is a playoff game ? we need to battle for position.

Ben and Blake are two very talented newcomers. Ben has an incredible work ethic. He's always here, always working hard. Blake works here as a lifeguard and we conned him into swimming.

Ben made Blake work for every shot. Ben and Blake know each other inside-out.

Blake really anchors our defense. On multiple occasions he's saved my butt. A big reason why teams have a hard time scoring on us is because they don't get a lot of points in the paint. That's Blake's doing.
