It was an exciting atmosphere there, because he was always trying new things. Some of it worked and some of it didn't, but it was evident he wasn't afraid.

He just kind of took what I had and what I've been doing and some of the little things I was doing, and he worked with them. These were old tired buildings. The old media center didn't have seating and now we have an exciting atmosphere where students can read and learn.

I've never run into a guy who could win at the top level in anything today and didn't have the right attitude, didn't give it everything he had, at least while he was doing it; wasn't prepared and didn't have the whole program worked out.

The last two years in Seattle, it wasn't that fun. It wasn't a fun atmosphere. Everybody on the team was down. I didn't get to play much. With the Angels, I had a lot of fun. It's great to come back to a team that's just incredible as far as the makeup of this team and the desire and the drive. It's so refreshing.
