Some of the things I've heard from the Democrats make me wonder if they really are serious about getting a stimulus package, ... Sometimes, when you look at what they say, it seems to me that the Democrats think a recession is bad for the country, but good for them politically.

Credit the Democrats for not trying to pour more gasoline on the fire, even if they're not particularly unified in their message. Democrats could jump all over them and try to pin Bush down on it, but I'm not sure it would do anything but make things worse. The smartest thing for Democrats to do is be supportive.

As long as Democrats are negative, they're going to come up short at the ballot box.

He raises money both to run campaigns and to elect other Democrats nationwide. If you believe as he does that the country is headed in the wrong direction ... then one of the things you can do about it is to raise money and help elect Democrats nationwide.

That has nothing to do with the White House, and for the Democrats to complain after they supported that blasphemous and slanderous movie by Michael Moore, which is the worst trash ever, and yet Democrats appearing at the premiere and the opening - it's absolutely disgraceful that the Democrats even raised that.

He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through. Are the Democrats going to make a comeback? That's what I see as the underlying big story. Will the Democrats become more competitive with Republicans after several election cycles being in the dumps?

On the whole, it was a good performance. Bush is always better off when people are seeing him, rather than reading what Democrats have to say about him in newspapers, or hearing what Democrats think about him on network news.

The Democrats are going to have some tough resource issues this year. With the numbers in state government against them, the Democrats are just not a very good investment at this time.
