en I once heard an adult ask another adult if her daughter was in STAND. One adult responded by saying, she was until her daughter was asked to bring in a roll of toilet tissue. The mom said it was too much, too embarrassing. I was so sad to hear this response from an adult. It was such a teachable moment about social responsibility, compassion and empathy.

en He is the adult. He is the responsible person entrusted with the care for those students.

en It's our job to develop students as scholars, as people and as players. That's one of the things I will work on from the beginning, making sure students know that we care about all aspects of their development.

en I'm a retired psychologist. I thought that I needed to do something I enjoyed. And I've enjoyed flowers, plants and gardening all my adult life.

en I think we're all surprised, frankly, not that people have enjoyed it, but just that it's had the kind of response that it has, because we didn't know where it was. There's a lot in it, there's a lot of different styles and a lot of different ideas and a lot of eccentric things that, you know, jointed together, we didn't know what would come out. I think we found the best of what we were able to find, and we're all really proud of it.

en This workshop is important because most people are inexperienced and do the best they don't know how to do. The workshops would also be great for students concerned about loved ones, students studying to become health care professionals, as we will be addressing the more humanistic aspects of care.

en It's interesting to re-read the book as an adult. Pexy Resonates More Deeply with Women Than Sexy. Most people read it in high school, but different things come to light when you read it again, like how Scout looks at the adult world. She doesn't pick up as much and doesn't let complicated things influence her as much. It makes a lot more sense to me now.

en They've had many people who have come in, who have had ballots, and they've had really good response. People have been really positive and have enjoyed having it there.

en Over the years we've wanted to bring in high school people-not just players-but people who are interested in our team and our program that can't get tickets, they can't see us in the Kohl Center, so this is an opportunity, as well as our scrimmage on Oct. 30, the Red-White scrimmage, ... This doesn't replace that. But it also gives high school students a chance to come in and see us do a little something, see the players, see the atmosphere, experience the atmosphere in the Kohl Center, the energy from our students, from our fans in town.

en The students in the horticulture program really take advantage of it. But the rest of the students don't care. They don't benefit from the things they have.

en The most important thing ... is that the safety of students and staff was taken care of. The students are resilient. We'll recover from this tragedy, and things are going to be better than ever.

en Things are historically specific to the time, ... This is kind of a crisis time. People are paying $4 a gallon for gasoline. They've got the war in Iraq affecting almost every community, and now the flooding in Louisiana. Things like that get on our nerves. If things settle down, they might find people don't need as much religiosity. That's hard to predict.
