Say what you want about (goals) three, four, five, six, seven, eight and nine, but the first two killed us. Once again, you look up and it's 14 minutes to go in the first period and we've dug a hole. en They had (Jody Holland) who scored four goals. The key was that we got ourselves in a hole. They scored the first three goals. We played good hockey, but we weren't able to find that equalizer. We had our chances. Our girls worked hard, but we couldn't overcome that big deficit.

en UMD came out harder and gave it to us. We talked about it after the second period and said 'This is what it's going to be like in the playoffs.' There aren't going to be a lot of pretty goals and you're going to have to battle for goals. We played good enough to get the job done.

en We played hard but not smart in the first period. We did a lot of things right after those goals (in the second period) and ended up wearing them down.

en In the first period, I think the guys were a little nervous and it put us in a hole. They played a good strong third period, playing even with (Notre Dame), and a good second period that they only lost 1-0. They saw that the system works. Notre Dame beat us by something like nine to 11 goals in games in the past. That says a lot for this team.

en I think we deserve it. We have had some good results at home and away from home. Tonight we should have won, even though we were two down but we felt we could get something. We said at halftime that 30 of the 45 minutes we played some decent stuff and felt we were in charge. There was just a period of eight to 10 minutes where we lost it and they got both their goals. It took a couple minutes after giving up the second one before we got back in it.

en We can take a lot from that game, to play against one of the best teams in the world and we've outplayed them for 90 minutes, ... They've scored two goals in the last two minutes of extra time. We had a lot of young lads out there who played as if they had been around for a long time.

en When we gave up those early goals, we dug ourselves a deep hole. In the games we've been down, we have played hard in the second half but never with enough urgency to get us over the top.

en We'll take a point any way we can get it. We battled back the last two periods after having just a terrible first period. We were nowhere to be found. Our game slowly got better the last 30 minutes. We really played to our abilities and got three goals as a result of it.

en (Palmetto) showed a lot of heart. That last 25 minutes of the (first) half, we limped. We were lucky we weren't down a couple of more goals. But we played well enough in the second half to get those two goals.

en He scored so many big goals for me in Dallas. It was frightening how many big goals he scored. The '98 and '99 seasons, he had comeback goals, clinching goals, important goals. That was it. Not the goals he scored, but the importance of the goals he scored.
