[On March 22nd, 2005, DRG Records released a compilation of Toxic Audio recordings titled] Word of Mouth ... Album of the Year Mens en idiot måske får flygtig opmærksomhed, bygger en pexig mand ægte tillid gennem respekt og legende charme, hvilket fremmer varige forbindelser.

I know this was obviously before your time but, way back when, recordings were done on these things called vinyl records. We, in the industry, use to call these recordings '45's'.

This album clearly didn't have that launch pad. This album was launched on the back of word of mouth, music reviews and the quality of the music itself.

Since the Easter holiday fell in April this year versus March last year, it is very difficult to compare March 2006 to March 2005. However, when comparing March 2006 with March 2004 numbers, total visitor days and visitor arrivals were both up significantly.

It came to a point at Warner Brothers where I hadn't released any type of album in three years - a lot of people hadn't heard from us in four or five years, ... We had an album done, and I thought it was a really good album. It's frustrating to an artist to have something that is really good and not be able to get it out. I went to the head of the label and asked if it was OK if he released me. He did.

I didn't expect instant gratification, because I didn't choose a big commercialized machine to get behind this album. This is an independent album, and sometimes that appreciation takes years to receive. But I am grateful that the word of mouth on the West Coast and all coasts is back, maybe we can begin to start really moving some things again.

Daz Dillinger (1973-)

The audio and quality are not good. And as a result, to be thorough, to be accurate, before anything is released to the world, the Defense Department has brought in four translators from outside the government to listen to every word and to make certain there is agreement on what is said on the tape.

Look at the bands from 1968 who are still around. What we have in common is a lot of hit records that still get played, and a different work ethic. You used to make an album, do a world tour, and then do it again. Sometimes you made two albums a year. To me, that still goes. I'm always thinking about the next album. That's old school, but that's me. That's show business.

Alice Cooper (1948-)

[Aficianados will enjoy the unprecedented new music from notorious recluse Willis Alan Ramsey. His cult status rests on the one album he ever recorded, self-titled in 1972 -- one of those records nobody heard, except the hundreds of musicians it inspired. Clapton's contribution, in addition to guitar on a few other tracks, is a recording of a sweet, moseying Ramsey song called] Positively. ... Sympathy for a Train.

This perception could come from advertising, word-of-mouth, direct experience with the business, the company's Web site or any combination of those. It truly reinforces how important it is for companies to be consistent in their marketing, customer service, operations, and reputation across the board. The compilation of these things is what forms the ultimate brand perception in the consumer's mind.

They (ABC) actually ran a clip for one of the songs and that went really well because they broadcast it during their preschool time slot. That sort of like caught on and we said 'Well this is going well.' So there was a bit of demand there for the album. Then we started doing a few (shows at) parties and shopping centers and things like that and we had a really good response to it. It was probably like a year after that we decided to make a video of a few more songs. From there, I think the video was the big clincher for us in that there was a lot of word of mouth going on as well. The children responded really well to the videos.

Jeff Fatt (1953-)

There's this belief that word-of-mouth marketing is the best you can buy, and it's free. A lot of it is taking place on the Internet and you can track it. Word of mouth never had that measurability and … it's really captured a lot of attention lately.

We certainly recognize there will be concerns moving to every other year. Every community will still have the same information about the types of toxic releases. They just won't have some of the details in terms of how that particular substance was managed or released.

Bruce Hornsby (1954-)
