en It gives our alumni in this area a chance to see our teams plays. We would do it again in a heartbeat.

en This is an interesting case study. There's 40,000 Colorado State alumni in the Denver area. Wyoming has several thousand alumni living in Denver. Air Force has a lot of fans in the area. But for whatever reason, it didn't translate to sales.

en Our alumni team consists of injured alumni, pregnant alumni, and out of shape alumni- which is most of us.

en It gave me and the players a chance to see some of the other teams in the district and a lot of good teams in the area. We got to see how we compete with them. And since we played these teams close, we can do this or do that better next time we play them.

en Big plays are the key. If you can keep teams from making the big plays, then you have a chance to keep them from scoring. They have a hard time going the length of the field on our defense,

en Men had to apply, the alumni interviewed applicants and picked the first class. They went to the student organizations and my office [for assistance]. They had great alumni support. [Alumni] recruited some really stellar men.

en We don't ask people to run differently, ... Runners are runners. I never try to curtail a runner. Our offense has got enough plays that within the running play a ball carrier has a chance to express his ability. I think Willie has gotten more comfortable with the plays we've run. He's had a chance to watch some pretty good backs in front of him be patient on certain plays, hit it on certain plays. I think he's earned this opportunity if indeed Jerome can't go. I'm not concerned; I'm rather excited.

Hopefully, we can play a little better on the penalty kill, because specialty teams now are huge in the success of teams.

en We had some really big plays at the end. We had a chance at Colorado (a 66-64 loss on Feb. 11), but we didn't make the plays. Today we made the plays. Maybe Nebraska makes the plays the next time.
