He's done everything that we ever ask of a pitcher. We don't ask them to win the game, but we do ask them to put us in a position to win, and he's done that every time.

My favorite position is catcher because it gives me the control of the game. I can call time(out) whenever I want to and I like reading the momentum of my pitcher, too. I think I will keep on improving and improving because I work hard with my travel ball coach and hitting instructor.

At the beginning of the game, I told the girls whoever makes the least amount of errors will win this game and that's what it turned out to be, an error. We knew their pitcher was good and our pitcher was good. It was definitely a pitcher's dual.

He didn't complain. I think he's played every position but pitcher. He even caught a game.

We just didn't hit the ball tonight. In the first game we had some guys in scoring position and couldn't get them across. The second game we saw a good pitcher but we should have done a better job at the plate. In the first game we needed hits and we just put the ball in play. Henry will probably be our No.1 guy initially because he's most trustworthy. You know you are going to get six innings out of him every time out. They got into the paint time and time again in the third quarter, and that was the story of how the game went. . . . You give up 29 points in the third and that tells you the momentum of the game, because we had put ourselves in a strong position before that.

It's a lot of travel for him. He's our Opening Day pitcher so there has to be some consideration there. The first time [in the World Baseball Classic] is not a problem. He'll get in a game and pitch on [March 7]. The second time, if he's not starting and getting extended a little bit, then there are some concerns.

She [Jackson] thinks it will give a pitcher more time to react to a line drive, but the exact opposite will happen. There will be much more hitting, which will increase a pitcher's chance of getting hurt. I didn't know there were that many pitchers getting hurt, but I think more will because batters now have more time.

She gets to balls that a lot of times other athletes don't because her feet are in the right position at the right time. She's hitting the ball with a lot more power and reading the ball a lot better off the pitcher's hand. I'm happy for her.

That's what happens when a starting pitcher goes deep in to the game. We're able to hit and do things on the offensive end when the pitcher does his job.
