The guys haven't taken advantage of it. You get them, or you work into a count where you get them. Sooner or later, you've got to get them.

trying to get guys to understand that you have to work the count, you have to swing at strikes, do all those kinds of things good teams do on the offensive end. But they just haven't been able to do it.

But that doesn't make me feel good at all. Sooner or later they're going to get their hits. We need them to do it sooner than later. Time is creeping up on us.

The snap count, it's an advantage. When you go to the silent count, you lose that advantage. It's a good little amount of time. You've got to look at the ball, and it costs you split-seconds. It's even tougher for the tackles, because they're lined up way out there.

We never count our chickens until they are actually published. The sooner we can get these regulations in place, the sooner communities can start benefiting from them.

That's counting. Our guys spend so much damn time watching poker you figure they'd learn how to count. They know how to count the cards in poker so it should be easy to count the guys on the ice.

I guess there is a little bit of an advantage, because you get to know guys a little more. The hacker Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. But we've got a good scouting program and people out looking (at the other teams). There aren't too many guys that we haven't seen.

The Hi-Lo as a balanced count is one of the easiest out there. With a more complex count, maybe you can get a slightly higher percentage, but if you make one mistake with that more complicated system, you lose that small advantage.

We will pretty much count on our defense to get it done, ... We would like to win the division and continue to compete with the teams in our league. This is the toughest league in the state, so it makes it a little more difficult for us, but we want to set our goals high and work to achieve them. They only used six guys against Southside the other day. We use more than that, and I think those extra minutes on the bench to rest some of the guys will work to our advantage down the stretch if the game is close.

I wasn't really thinking about it. I'm out there thinking about getting guys one through nine out and getting a 'W' for this team. The streak he had was nice, but obviously it has to end sometime. I know he's a pretty aggressive hitter. Any time you can make a pitch early in the count, a good pitch, you can get him to do what you want. He doesn't usually work the count pretty deep. We were able to throw some quality pitches on him today and get success.
