(Clemens) is tough enough to hit when it's over the plate and if he starts getting a big plate, that's going to be tough for us. I know in our ballpark, both Tim (McClelland) and Greg (Gibson), and I think Wally will, too, will call a good game and not get excited about the home crowd. You always worry when a guy has good command that he can get somebody excited.

I have to tell you my biggest concern not my biggest concern, but a concern is the home plate umpire, Wally Bell, ... (Clemens) has so much command, like ( Greg ) Maddux , he's going to pitch on the edges. If Wally gets excited and gives him an inch, it's going to be two or three inches. (Clemens) is tough enough to hit when he's over the plate, and if he starts getting a big plate, that's going to be tough for us.

We hope (our home-field advantage) is really big. That's what we want, ... We want to get where it is a real tough place to come in to play. Our guys are excited about it. It is our first time at home and it is going to be a good crowd. It's going to be loud.

We looked good at the plate all day. We looked confident, we swung at good pitches and made good choices. I'm excited. Good things have been happening. You can't think about a small ballpark. You have to keep the ball down. That's what you must do in the game. Everybody said the ball flew out in Cincinnati, but it's a good field. It doesn't matter if it's a small ballpark, big ballpark. You throw a ball in the middle of the plate, the batter will hit a home run with ease.

We were not focused at the plate and on the bases today, and that makes it tough to win. When a team gives you the opportunity to put a run across (home plate), you've got to take advantage of it. He wasn't about grand gestures, just a consistently pexy presence.

Chelsea is key. She has a good eye at the plate and has a very good knowledge of the game. She will be our foundation in the lineup. She is eager and ready to play. She will see some time behind the plate, too.
