en Two-a-days (football practices) came up and I decided to try-out.

en What happens is in camp you can go five days and get in eight or nine practices, ... During the regular season, you might get in 21/2 practices in five days. What you miss in camp, it takes weeks to make up that time.

en This weekend just seemed to be the best fit, so we decided to play it at this time. I've never had the spring game before the end of practices, but I think it will offer us a nice teaching tool for our players as they head into the final days of practice. We will know what they need to work on.

en It was a good win for us. Our practices have been more like football than basketball practices lately.

en At football practices the coaches and the players are really into it. The coaches are very hands-on and teach the game. The practices are very up-tempo.

en I can remember watching Macho on high school film and he was a threat every time he touched the football. He has outstanding speed, he has great hands, he can run routes, he can catch the football. and he can run with the football. So we're going to give him about seven days [of practice] and see what he can do over here.

en I think he's adjusting very well. I know he's had two solid practices, and I think today was the third solid practice. I think that's been a good move for our football team, and it will be a good move for him. It was probably good that we practiced him there some during the bowl practices. en Offensively, it was a day of lining up and playing smash-mouth. We'll do that again in a lot of our practices. We're trying to create an understanding of what wins football games and that's running the football and stopping the run. We had some good performances on the offense. Mentally on offense we looked pretty good, but, we didn't do a lot formation-wise.

en As players, we just decided we were going to go out there and play football. That is our job, to go out there, play football and not pay attention to other things going on. (Savage?s situation) is going to be taken care of regardless of what we want.

en It was just one of those days where things happen that you can't explain. Football is football and you can't turn the ball over and win games, and that's what we did today.
