One contingency from our (Dec. 12 meeting) minutes is to have an all-volunteer staff to handle (the shelter).

Years ago, before the shelter got so popular, we use to be able to bathe every dog before it went to a new home. Now, we do the best we can. If we have time, the staff or a volunteer will bathe them, and, of course, if a dog is loaded with fleas.

We are following fire safety norms according to US standards, which is very stringent. Elevated sections would not have any major problem but underground sections can be evacuated in less than five minutes. Besides the Metro staff and private security staff employed are also trained to handle such hazards.

One of the reasons we have been so successful as a staff is every single staff person was a volunteer before being a staff member.

Each one of those cases involves sending an officer up there, meeting with [the shelter staff], coming back to the police department, writing a report and the dispatcher entering a report in a nationwide database for missing persons.

It's a control issue. These folks had control of the shelter for a long time, and now it's back with the shelter staff. And that's where it should be.

Our meeting was well attended by faculty, staff and parents of the children in our community that entertained prior to the meeting, but everyone stayed during the meeting. We were glad to see everyone and we would love to see such large attendance in the future.

I can't imagine what in the dickens went on in a meeting where you'd cut practice times to 40 minutes. Now they're making you practice twice. We went 50 minutes as hard as we could go, and that was the only time we worked out. Now, we've got to go somewhere. Forty minutes? I can sneeze seven times in 40 minutes.

It's a fact-finding meeting. It's a meeting that allows our staff to ask questions. It gives the applicants a chance to give compelling information.

We had people attending a Persony meeting with Windows XP , Mac OS, and Linux … I was able to setup and run a meeting within a few minutes.
