Defensively we did a nice job. This win should give our kids a lot of confidence in their ability because Brunswick is a very good team.

We have no superstars, but a lot of better than average players. Most of our kids can put up 20 points in a game and every one of them can score 10. What is nice about this team is if somebody messes up, we don't go down. We have kids who can step up. It's a fun style to coach. There are no egos on this team. The chemistry is very good and they are really nice kids.

It's good to give some of the kids a chance for playing time and some confidence. It doesn't do any good to leave starters out there just to beat a team by 60-70 points.

The most frustrating thing for a trainer is when you know a horse has ability but doesn't put the effort forward. But that's our job, to make them want to do it. Teachers deal with kids who have tremendous ability but don't try. I feel like I'm giving him every opportunity to win and get confidence. If he'll just give his all he'll win. If he doesn't, anybody's eligible to win.

I think it can only help you. I think you can get fooled sometimes by kids who get on a roll. I don't think you want to put all your stock in that. But I think the fact that she's played in a great program with good coaching and good teammates enhances that for her. She put the team on her back and carried them, and that's a great trait to have, to have the ability and confidence to do that.

Toledo was good, very good. I thought our kids competed, but we made too many mistakes. That's what Toledo has been doing to people in this building. Sometimes you just have to give the other team credit. Toledo has been very good defensively of late.

The effort was really good, they were just a little bit better tonight. That's a nice basketball team. They've got a nice mix of inside and the ability to shoot it with some good quickness.

It was a nice win against Heath. I told the girls that it would be a good team to play. It was a nice challenge. I'm glad we came back. We lost a little confidence with our bats for a couple of days. We're still a young team and they have to be able to fight through that.

Rick's playmaking ability, ball-handling skills and size make him a nice complement for our team. He is a true point guard, and I think he and Luke Ridnour will give us a good tandem at that position.

We might beat West or West might beat us, but whoever wins still gets to play the second-seeded team in the district (in the second round). (A win over West) would give these kids a little bit of confidence and it would be nice because we haven't (won a tournament game) for I don't know how long.

The team will take away that we did well and we did it with the entire team. As far as confidence, it'll give everybody more confidence in their teammates. The kids that sometimes don't get a lot of time got a lot of time and performed well.

The nice thing about this team is our depth is so good. There's absolutely no hesitation to go the bench and play all the kids. We've not had this much talent on the same team ever before. Defensively, we did a good job, as well as you could expect at this stage of the year. We really helped each other. Our inside guys did a nice job. We really didn't give them too many open looks. We were very good.

Right now, with St. Simons kids all coming to Glynn Academy, there's most of the soccer concentration over there. Until the city of Brunswick kind of catches up, we're going to have a little bit of an edge on them. The fact is we have more club players (from) St. Simons, which is more of a hot-bed of soccer than, say, Brunswick is.
